It makes eating meals with friends and family very doable, you can go on a date without having to make it obvious you’re on a “diet,”
I hate you…both…a lot
My way around this is cooking for my girl instead of going out on dates…but only once every 10 days. I don’t think she would appreciate accurately weighed out portions of chicken and rice for a date meal.
I would make a friendly wager between yodaddy, you, and me but unfortunately y’all are doing physique

Oh I would say you’re better off cooking and measuring your own food most of the time for sure, always better to ensure accuracy by eliminating the variance in the way a meal can be prepared at a restaurant. But occasionally I don’t worry about plugging in numbers from a restaurant’s website. Sorry man bout doing physique:/ I’m approaching it with the mentality of a bb’er and plan to compete in bodybuilding in the future, my current build just fits better with physique haha. But I’d still be up for a friendly competition for best conditioning, I’m not holding back or keeping from getting as lean as possible. I’ve made sure Brian knows that I want to be lean enough to compete in bb’ing

It sure is! Being able to lean up while still eating more food than the average person makes prep so much less stressful. It makes eating meals with friends and family very doable, you can go on a date without having to make it obvious you’re on a “diet,” just makes everyday life much more maintainable when you’re combining high macros with flexible dieting. 16 weeks out update and pictures: My low weight this week was 187.8. Brian is lowering my numbers on low days to 345 c, 75 f, and 250 p. Twice weekly refeeds are now 540 c, 65 f, and 230 p. He also added in a second weekly HIIT session. I’m hoping these changes will get the ball rolling a little quicker for me.
I’ve tightened up in the first 4 weeks, but didn’t drop quite as much weight as I had hoped I would on the numbers I started at. My training is going well, still gaining strength. Hit that deadlift PR a couple weeks back, and hit a rep pr on bench a few days ago, 225 for 12 reps. Here are my photos from this morning. I think next week I’ll start adding a few more poses, maybe my physique style shots also just since that’s obviously what I’ll be doing on stage.
Stayed at my parents place last night, and had to wake my little brother up early to take the pictures (he wasn’t too pleased lol), so posing was pretty rushed and noticeably off as a result.

I’m really surprised at the amount of carbs for trying to lean out…plus refeeding days, I’m thinking I’m going too low on carbs and calories myself. Then again, you’re right about it being relative to where you started on your macros. You can definitely see the results though. And the weight loss seems on target…not too fast where you could sacrifice muscle.

Yeah, I think getting your carb ceiling up and being able to maintain on as many carbs as possible in your offseason before starting prep is something not enough competitors take advantage of. While tracking macros in the offseason isn’t always the most fun, it really isn’t a hassle and allows you to know pretty precisely where to start prep.
Those who don’t know what their macros are in the offseason have to just pick a starting point for prep, and could be starting lower than necessary for fat loss. Making the smallest drops possible that will still stimulate fat loss is best, imo
My weight loss really seemed to take off this week, hit a new prep low of 185.0 this morning. I’m continuing to have productive training sessions and increasing strength, and had 3 different guys at the gym this morning ask me what my weight was, and not believe me when I told them 185. So that’s a good feeling, hoping that I’ll look bigger than I weigh, as physique sports are often about creating an illusion! In any case, I am looking forward to a long improvement season following these contests. Brian felt that I was pretty flat in my photos this morning, and wants to see my weight level out before making any further changes, so my macros will remain at 345 c, 250 p, and 75 f this week, with 2 refeeds. I’ll post up the pictures I sent him

Bleurgh, your avi makes me miss dieting greatly.
The pumps make your arms look monstrous rather just bloated/smooth like mine lol.
Haha thanks Rattle, had a good pump going and couldn’t help snapping a bro mirror pic ;). It’s funny how it works that no matter which phase you’re in, offseason or contest prep, you wish you could be in the other one! I really enjoy the grind of dieting (not that it’s been tough yet this go around) and seeing the weekly changes, but as I get leaner and see that I’m still no where near where I wanna be in terms of size, I wish I was still gaining! So keep crushing the food and weights for me my friend, I’m jealous of you having the opportunity to keep building your physique at the moment

You are 100% correct! The grass always does seem greener.
