Did these for the first time today. Felt great they will become a regular exercise in my routine the bar posotion just felt like the perfect groove for me when doing shrugs.
Why are you doing shrugs? Why not DLs, High Pulls and Cleans instead?

Isn’t NHiron doing Westside? Of course he would do deads, pulls, and the such!
Shrugs are still done as part of the accessory work within many westside workout logs at elitefts. You can never do enough trap work I guess.
I don’t know his workout, nor do I know WS that well since I’m training for OL. I just made assumptions based on my own training, and the fact that my traps get plenty of stimulation from normal workouts. I do shrugs, but only once every 4-6 weeks.
Technically, you can’t really do a trap bar shrug without at least one rep of trap bar deadlift.
Trap bars are interesting, I’ve tried deadlifting with them before and my shins certainly appreciated it.
I do train Westside so I use shrugs as an accessory movement. Using the trap bar just really mad a movement tht I did not like much more comfotable in my shoulders.
