Sure there are some retards that like Trump a little too much. There’s nuts on every side. But right now, one side with absolute bat-shit crazy ideologies are in power on their sinking ship. And they are taking anyone they can down to the bottom. I am not worried about the ideologies of people who have no institutional power. This is likely because you’re in the USA.
The far right parties (gaining more and more traction by the day) in Europe are touting absolutely insane ideas that people are starting to back.
And there generally isn’t as much of a far left push in countries that already have universal healthcare, subsidised tuition etc.
There’s no need to look into socialism when you’re under the highly successful, capitalistic Nordic model.
Just curious, what country are you in? As a person who believes in capitalism and free enterprise but also a decent social safety net to keep people from falling too far down due to bad luck, I’m interested in the Scandinavian model. I’m doubtful it is directly transferable to the U.S. for a number of reasons, but I think we might be able to learn from it.

No, it isn’t. Culture will largely dictate the socio-political policies that can or can’t pass. In a culture steeped in collectivist rhetoric firearm prohibition is widely accepted, celebrated even.
A culture based upon the precipice of individualism? “You’ll need to pry my guns from my corpse”.
However certain elements… like universal healthcare for all whilst providing privatisation for those who wish to jump the que provided they can afford it, subsidised college tuition etc, adopting the Nordic model to deal with prostitution in the states… y’all could probably benefit from these variables in particular.
The Nordic models, Scandinavian models only work because they have little to no army. They don’t have to pay for a massive defense apparatus. Second, those countries are virtually racially and culturally homogenous, so yeah what works there, could never be applied to the U.S. We’re the most culturally and ethnically diverse nation in the world, so no matter what you try to put in place to model after those countries ultimately leaves someone out here.
And I am all for the U.S. dropping the post war protection of Europe. It’s a relic of the cold war, there is no USSR, so why do we have it? Let Europe fend for itself. I think the Europe and the US would be better off. Europe doesn’t have to worry about US ‘imperialism’ and the US can tighten up its own security apparatus for it’s own interest alone. France and England are the only two countries with any kind of serious military, the rest rely on them and the US, fuck that.
I think you would see a major shift in policy in these countries if they had to invest in their own protection instead of outsourcing it like they do now. I think it would be interesting to see.
What would Sweden, Finland, Denmark, do if all the sudden they had to raise a competent army? Or Germany? Maybe Germany need not be a totally sovereign nation, they don’t have a great track record.

I guess so. And for 5 years, women have been letting men compete in their sports. I guess women’s sports are not worth preserving to them. Fine with me, I don’t watch it. But I do think women should participate in sports if they want to, they are just going to have to compete against men, sooooo… Well, equality and all that shit.

LOL I agree with the gist of what your saying but this is just not a good example. I just looked that guy up, he would get smoked by any D1 college basketball player. If he got out to an early lead, it was because she was toying with him not because he was fresh.
From the age of about 23 to 25 I would go down to the park to play pickup and on a rare occasion some of the University women would come down and they would tear us chumps apart. Mostly due to knowing how to pass, set picks, block out, etc. One on one I think I could have beaten any of them but I had just finished up my college athletic career (different sport) and I judged my basketball skills to be good enough to start on most high school varsity teams. That guy is old and out of shape.

First of all, that girl is no D1 player. If she is it’s the crappiest D1 team ever. She shoots off her heels and is super stiff and awkward in how she moves. Second, he is a lot younger and more athletic in the match than the guy I found in my initial Google search. He’s got a pretty darn good outside shot, he’s probably in decent shape - just a little over weight, and he HACKED THE FU@& out of her.
Long way around to a short point, but my point is elite girls are pretty darn good at their sports and they will smoke the average dude. How many here think they can beat Gabby Thomas in a 200m? I agree though, a trans male has a huge advantage and shouldn’t be able to compete against women.

Meanwhile, any objective measurement of academic performance continues to tank and the kid at the drug store cash register was confused when I asked for a $20, $10, $5 and five singles for my request of $40 cash back. I received a $20 and four $5’s after two separate explanations. But hey, I bet that young gal knows how to use the right pronouns, or at least be adequeately deferential and apologetic when they get it wrong.

Then the best female soccer team on the planet at the time lost to a team of 15 and under boys. Yes, they were from a professional team’s academy, but it was an MLS academy, not Barcelona’s or Chelsea’s academy. Maybe they weren’t “average” dudes but they also weren’t even dudes, they were kids.

While I understand the thinking that a woman on testosterone creates an unfair advantage against other women, men on testosterone blockers also have an unfair advantage. Their skeletal structure and base musculature/neuronal system has already set. I don’t remember how timing overlays with the early comments, but I recall a trans mma competitor absolutely demolishing females, to the point of literally smashing facial skeletal structure.
