Sex reassignment surgery is not the reason you pay more for healthcare. not even close. Its exceedingly rare. find another boogieman. Starting with alcoholism, bad diets, etc.

You’re trying to say breaking a bone is something that can always be controlled and not something accidental. Gender reassignment surgery is under that person’s control always. They are two different things.
Yes there are of course other reasons premiums are getting higher. It’s a problem with socialized medicine in general. It is the general practice of making those who are responsible pay for the healthcare of those who are not.
If I may ask. Do you actually pay for your own medical or are you relying on others? If you pay for you own, then this should make sense.

Odds are really high that any gender reassignment surgery does not make that trans person any happier. its a super risky, irreversible medical procedure and should probably involve a psych eval to ensure the patient is making the decision cognizant of the risks/issues at play in in control of all faculties… and it certainly shouldnt be made by a teenager having a hard time in high school! Once they turn 18, by all means. we have, as a society, decided you are an adult capable of making life changing permanent decision.

I was unsure of where you were going when you started the post off the way you did, but wholeheartedly agree with everything you wrote about this. There is NO EXCUSE. We put limits on minors all the time and it is 100% acceptable. This type of situation has even more lifelong ramifications than most of the other behaviors or decisions we limit in minors.
100%. I don’t mean agreeing with or even liking it, but some of the absolute shit I’ve seen behavior wise towards LGBT people from conservatives is just disgusting. And in my opinion this kind of vitriol is one of the key reasons that we have the long pendulum swing towards left leaning over-corrections of “acceptance” happening. Obviously the over-correction can also bring serious problems with it, as you allude to in this post regarding transgender issues.

Exactly why I brought it up. 10 ng/L is 100 Ng/dL, which is what the values on a blood test are usually given in when a man gets a hormone screen. Hormones flux with the monthly cycle in women, but for women never get anywhere that number. While it’s marginally inaccurate to say 100 ng/dL would “barely” qualify for TRT here in the states I don’t know what the thresholds are in other countries for clinical treatment so it could be accurate.

Lol at Type 1/2 error… That was going through my head at the time of writing. Yeah, the difficulty is that there are undoubtedly people who will transition regardless - and as twojarslave said the adults should be treated like people, and if they so choose they can transition.
The problem is there are so many more that phase out of that as they grow up and to mental maturity. I just cannot square the consequences with the biological and psychological immaturity in kids/young teens.
I know this is anecdotal but there is a TRT and holistic health clinic near me whose doctor-owner I know and who is a client of mine for training… Well, a 14 year old girl has come in several times trying to convince the doctor to help her transition to male. If you observe this person there is quite obviously something wrong psychologically as well, outside of the gender misidentification. I’m not a psychologist so I won’t even attempt to say what, but it is blatant to casual observation. There’s no reason this should even be available as an option to someone in this situation. Not to mention the complete failure of the parent by encouraging them to visit the clinic.
Fortunately my doctor acquaintance told them “no”. But this is to me a much more common situation than the reverse. I don’t think there’s a perfect solution.
I would argue transition is vastly different than that contraceptive use.
Because there is a physical component. A man turned woman is, most of the time, going to have a competitive advantage against women from the genetically male traits. The other way around, trans-men, have a near zero shot at competing against male peers. The physical reality is the difference between trans and other mental disorders.

Yeah. Both are right decisions and both are wrong decisions. Depending on your precious feelings haha. But I do firmly believe that one of those decisions is the more right one and I would argue this can be proven empirically. But alas some people have precious feelings that prevent them from honestly looking at the narrative.

I suspect you have probably already heard of “rapid onset gender dysphoria”.
A phenomena in which 1 girl in a social group identifies as trans and suddenly within a short period of time nearly all of them are now trans and wanting to initiate hormonal treatment.
Its like some shared delusion.
A shared psychosis perhaps. Much like Folie a deux. Or maybe more like Koro syndrome. Also known as genital retraction syndrome. Where the individual has an intense fear that his genitals will retract into his body and disappear. Its been known to afflict entire villages. Driving men to fasten ropes to their little schmekel and then to rocks. So that you know gravity keeps it from retracting.

I would imagine if you were to initiate hormonal treatment to facilitate transitioning in context of gender dysphoria you would certainly have to exclude concurrent or an entirely separate psychiatric pathology.
They really don’t or shouldn’t be handing out test/estrogen like its skittles. I can’t see them doing that with out throughout screening for a separate pathology that could explain the dysphoria the patient is experiencing.
Simply to avoid litigation you have to be able to CYA. Sally becomes Harry and a few years later is like why did you help me do this. I actually was severely depressed and that was going on. Now I’ve permanently altered my body. Can never breast feed and may struggle to fall pregnant. I need 7 figure compensation now and your medical license so you never do this to another poor child you inept bastard.
