Transitioning to Vegetarianism

Thanks people! I appreciate it.

You can see how disturbing some are. This one vegan and ARA, lauded as a current hero in their world, exclaims in videos how he hates the human race and is against the family unit. Check out the
emotional manipulation of his own family.

Check out in this video his bullying and dictatorial tactics he uses on students he is invited to lecture. Nice guy, eh? Fighting for justice.

Oh, another thing that popped in my head pertaining to vegans. Ever hear them exclaim, and I think this was discussed in Cowspiracy, how if we all go vegan, we will not need to feed livestock, and thereby will be able to take all that food we were giving livestock and “feed the world” with it. I assume they mean that we can feed the world with grains primarily, but they ignorantly or conveniently leave out that if we had that much grain production, much of the planet would be scorched (talk about sustainability and “saving the animals”).

Not only that, EVERY time a vegan speaks about “feeding the hungry” they NEVER, EVER come up with a plan detailing WHO will be doing the giving and HOW it will be done.

Well, never mind. Any detail is likely not needed because what can be reasonably implied by anyone with half a brain knows WHO they want to be doing the giving: Americans and Europeans, the world’s biggest suckers! No wonder so many vegans have a commie-lib slant!

They ask, with crocodile tears in their eyes, “We have seven billion people on this earth, and they keep on multiplying–how are we going to feed them?” Gee, maybe we should ask ourselves, how the hell did we get to a point where we have seven billion freaking people on this hungry planet?

When discussing this food-insecurity crisis, none of them get to a nasty but true concept:
“We feed, they breed!” And this feeding and breeding only increases more suffering amongst the people that will be aided with buckets of earth-scorching grain because they can’t feed themselves or uphold any amenities and advantages given to them.

The vegans propose lofty ideas but then offer no concrete plan to implement them. And one can see they are indeed, as a bunch, all over the place. Event though some of them are misanthropic, many of them have bleeding hearts for downtrodden people, which, to be fair, might be sincere in some cases. I myself don’t like seeing mistreatment. However, they fail to realize that the ground they stand and live on was taken by other “sentient beings”, HUMANS, that is. Pardon me if I am wrong, but is there ANY nation standing today that was not founded through taking and bloodshed? If people are eating now and living a comfortable life, it is because someone somewhere along the line took something, life or land or resources or whatever, animals included. And there’s stuff that I was so naive to. You want to grow any sort of food? It never occurred to me that keeping wild animals off your turf is necessary. Wild boars, coyotes, crocodiles, in some cases they really are dangerous to turf and humans, and I’ve learned there is a reason in some cases why they have to be dealt with.

And because man is sharing this planet with god knows how many other creatures and his mere presence interferes with natural order between predator and prey, some environmentally conscious people have taken it upon themselves to do some dirty work, which actually does lend in conserving some species. Many of you might know this already, but to me, it’s all news! Like, as a city person, I really did not know stuff like this.

I should write a damn article on this shit somewhere. I even joined a vegan forum on FB for sometime, just to get the gist of the whole ideology, and you people wouldn’t believe the shit that is posted there!

Brick, very interesting read
Thanks for sharing (even if your wife HATES it

Aside from getting literal “farm fresh” food, have you found any good brands that are reputable and treat their animals well without breaking the bank? I’ve seen some stuff on line that is cage free, grass fed, etc
but its literally 4x the cost or more!

I’m with you it seems in that I dont have a problem in the consuming of meat, but I would love to have those animals treated well during their life times.

Thanks!

As of my decision in the beginning of this week, my wife went to Whole Foods and got moderately priced organic chicken. Honestly, I do not think I will be able to buy organic ALL the time, but I will do my best to do so, because as you said, some of the brands are very expensive. I am like you; I want to be ethical, but it is very hard to do so all the time, especially considering cost. And let’s face it, we all in one way or another involuntarily support an oppressive and cruel system, just by paying taxes and showing up to work, for real!

I don’t eat as much protein as I used to, so that makes things easier too.

I found some bison meat from Colorado at Whole Foods that was reasonably priced. I wanted to try something new, because the typical chicken/turkey/eggs/fish types of protein are boring at this point. Very tasty, I believe it has less overall fat than chicken too.

I shared my thoughts in a video. I am new to You Tube and plan on making more videos as time goes on. I also wanna write my thoughts down somewhere to, pertaining to nutrition, fitness, and life, or whatever.

I’m going to take my posts here and collate them into an article.

D’awwww look at that little doggy!!!

As expected, this study shows 1gm per pound of bodyweight is better for body composition during a caloric deficit than 0.5gm per pound.

Higher compared with lower dietary protein during an energy deficit combined with intense exercise promotes greater lean mass gain and fat mass loss: a randomized trial

Yes, during caloric deficit, one can benefit from raising protein. I still think we are protein obsessed though. :slightly_smiling:

I am actually going to a hunting meetup next week at a bar in Brooklyn. I found these guys on Meetup.com. They have bi-weekly socials and go on hunting outings. At this point, I’d like to learn some stuff so eventually I can actually go on a hunt.

Interesting video I stumbled upon.

Some of the best advocates for REAL environmental preservation are hunters themselves.

“Hey, let’s build a mall there!”

“Uh, nope.”

Yes, I have learned!

I think so too.

What are your new numbers for protein intake for maintaining and cutting?

I am doing portion control now, as I usually do, while remaining “lean-ish”, but certainly not ripped. I estimate it at about 170 to 180. Kind of high for my size but not ridiculous.

Hey Brick, apologies if I missed it posted elsewhere, but what do you weigh now?

190 as of like a week and half ago.

I really wanted to know about the subject. :slightly_smiling:
