I’m going on a full body workout training program, 3 times a week. But I convinced this guy I know to get back into the weight room and lift. He wants me to lift with him, so I’m sure it will be Benching and upper body bullshit.
I’m thinking of doing the early body at 8am-10am, rest up, and train witht his guy at 5pm. What you guys think?
If you’re doing full body decently, you really shouldn’t be wanting more in the evening. You may try something like focus on lower body when you’re on your own, and focus on upper body when you’re working out with him. Just make sure you don’t go overboard with the total volume.
At a certain level of trianing CW recommends training in the evening as well as the mornings on some days. On a day with nothing else in the way (work etc) this should be ok. Tell him he is a pussy if he doesn’t want to squat or something similar. Make sure you are getting in proper recovery with your sessions. Eat and rest, use ice and menthol rub.

Since you’re going to be spending a lot of time lifting with him anyway, why don’t you teach him the proper way to lift? That way you can kill two birds with one stone, so to speak.

EXactly if he isnt lifting in a smart and conducive way to you well then teach him get him to adapt or do a few things with him that fit your training and move on to your other stuff.
Hell thats what many people do. Me and my lifting partner(s) will do the core movement(s) of the day and then head our own ways hitting what we know each of us lacks/needs work on.
My squat has been horrible, but I squat ATG and currently went on diet. Stopped squatting, cut weight, and it dropped even lower. Anyway
His stats: 5’6
400lbs Bench
400lbs Dead- Assuming, never seen him do it
400lbs Squat
225lbs Hang Clean
He hasn’t lifted heavy for real in a few months. So his numbers dropped but he can get them back
Mine:
335lbs Bench
425lbs Dead
275lbs ATG(I’m switching to Powerlifting Wide stance, fuck ATG for now)
185lbs Hang Clean.
He has a distinct advantage, but I really don’t like this mother fucker’s attitude. And I have to prove a point.
Gonna do Bill Star’s 5x5 routine from now to December. Burpees for Cardio. And eat at least 250 grams of protein a day and 100 grams carbs, all brown rice and yams. Flaxseed oil as well.
Also will do static Holds/Walkouts and grip work when I get the chance. Also, core work and Gms’s.
