Niiice. I want to train there eventually, too. I live in North Versailles.

DL-465x1 (+10lb PR), fast and smooth! Looking @475 in two weeks; doing 5/3/1 for Powerlifting. This was my 3 week w/singles and two weeks will be my 5/3/1 week with singles. Goal of 505@198bw on April 7th @ the SPF Longhorn Classic.

315x10 RAW bench last week. Body weight 202.

I swear one of these days I am going to hold a clinic on how to spot. To this guys credit, while you cant see from this angle, he did not have his hands wrapped around holding it and pulling, he hovered around it “just in case” (his words).

Really angers me other times though when its a weight I know I can grind out and the guy just pulls it up for me.

Yeah I hate this too. Whenever I get someone to spot me I tell them exactly how I want it to be done.

“On 3 give me a lift and then put your hands behind your back. DO NOT touch the bar under any circumstance unless you hear me say the word ‘Help’.”

Once I started doing that I didn’t have any problems with people helping me prematurely.

I don’t mind when people hover… there was a time where if the person didn’t, the bar would’ve been out of control too fast for someone to get it if there hands weren’t right underneath it. And it was at lockout where I’ve never missed a lift before, my wrist just slipped and curled and the bar (with bands attached to it) was immediately caught instead of immediately crashing down on my collar bone or throat.

This was done at a meet, but it was really a training session for me. Got all 4 raw PRs:

Squat 295 for 2 sets of 8 tonight. I’m in desperate need of calories right now.
