Training Partner in Atlanta, GA

I’ve been training for almost 3 years.

The last few months I have had a training partner for the first time. He was a lot bigger and stronger than me. It was awesome.

I was wondering if anyone here is looking for a training partner. I live in the Decatur area, near the Virginia Highlands are, close to Midtown, etc.

I am not the biggest/strongest guy, but I will leave my guts on the bar each time. Right now I am on the Anabolic Diet. I am shedding body fat, and focusing on strength.

Thanks.

P.S. Right now I am 177 at 5’7. Not sure of body fat %.
My max lifts are: Squat 315x3, Flat Bench 210 (sucks) and Deadlift 405.

Wish I was bigger…

I’m in Gwinnett (Lawrenceville)

5’8"
180
Squat: 280
Bench: 260
Deadlift: 405

Love to train with you sometime… Obviously not on a regular basis but love to workout finally with someone that doesn’t do set after set after set of bicep curls

…you got those lifts after training for 4 months? really? say it ain’t so

Well I lifted in High school (01-03’). I was in a motorcycle accident last November (broke my back, wrist and dislocated all my fingers) that didn’t allow me to start lifting until June.

Squats are low because I never really did them in High school. I was mostly a bencher/curls type of guy

Where you train at? I live in Decatur also. I compete (mostly APF and SPF). I train part of the time at North GA Barbell in Kennesaw. But I also catch some solo workouts at LA Lameness when I’m not doing enough to justify the long drive.

I train at the YMCA in Decatur, on Clairmont near Scott Blvd.
Kennesaw would be out of range for me, but anything around here would be fair game.

Pinto- How do you like North GA Barbell? I live in Smyrna and have been looking everywhere for a gym like that. Unfortunately, it looks like all of them have closed up or gone a different route.

NGBB is one of a few hardcore gyms left in GA. whiel not everyoen that trains there is a powerlifter, it is still primarily a powerlifting focused club. I’ve trained there for about 4 years- really since I first got into the sport. We have all the monolifts, comp benches, bands, chains, and shit. But more importantly, we have a several knowledgable lifters and some good training groups and that’s worth more than anything you can buy and put in a garage. I owe a ton of great trainign sessions, plenty of PRs, and a few elite totals to the gym. It’s been well worth driving 30 miles each way a couples times a week. Are you a powerlifter or interested in the sport?

I’m interested in it, but haven’t really had the opportunity to do anything like it. The guy I’ve always trained with is in love with the bench and can’t squat or deadlift, so it’s always been tough trying to get real serious. But the little bit that I’ve done, I’ve really enjoyed.
