Monday is chest snd biceps and abs. Wednesday is legs and abs, Friday is back, shoulders and triceps and abs and saturday is legs again. I’m in the gym 2-3.5 hours. Saturdays a little less. I dont do cardio right now. I dont have the time to squeeze it in.
I dont have the time to squeeze it in.
I’m sure you don’t if you’re spending 12 hours a week just lifting weights! That is an absurd amount of time in the weight room.
You have a lot of time to train it seems. Are you open to a new training approach, given that you’re unsatisfied with the outcome of your current approach?
I rest 2-3 minutes between sets… i’m kind of set on my
Training routine, it works with schedule. I’m hoping that if my diet gets in check then I’ll start seeing the results i want. However, am curious to what you would propose…
I rest 2-3 minutes between sets
Me too, and my training doesn’t last longer than an hour. When I was doing DoggCrapp, sessions would run about 80 minutes.
If you find yourself in a place where you are willing to try a different approach to training, I’d love to discuss some programs with you. But if you are satisfied with your training and the results it is producing, it won’t really be a productive dialog. I’m not in the business of convincing people.
I’m not sure if I would change my routine, but I’m interested in what you have to say. Maybe I would change my mind. I’m slightly open, not completely closed off
The only days i can workout are Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday…
So here’s what I like to do in these situations: I employ a technique from Neil deGrasse Tyson.
What would I need to present to you in order for you to decide to not follow your current approach and, instead, follow a different approach? If I have that, I will present it to you. If not, then I have nothing to present.
This saves us both quite a bit of time and effort.
I definitely dont want to waste anyones time. I can’t promise i would switch my routine, i feel like it has been working, you dont think my current routine is good? I can’t promise i would switch my routine… its what im used to. That said, if you are still willing to share, it’s something new for me to consider. I am very curious to what you have to say
you dont think my current routine is good?
My own observation was that you were unsatisfied with the results it was producing. If that’s NOT the case, and it turns out I was mistaken, there’s no reason to change it.
“If it ain’t broke: don’t fix it”. I absolutely live by that.
Okay then. Once i’ve been on my current routine with my diet in check and i dont get the results I’m looking for, i may want to change it up. To be honest, i am really curious to what the program looks like that you are talking about. If you dont mind sharing, i would like to learn what it is about
I don’t have one particular program in mind: I know of a lot of different ones that are all very effective. Determining what would be a good fit would be a process of further discussion and refinement. And it may turn out that the programs I know aren’t a good fit at all, and it would have to be someone else that offers expertise (like, if it’s pure bodybuilding, all I know is DoggCrapp, and I’d have to relent to someone like @davemccright or @TrainForPain on that discussion).
Roger that, thanks man.
Once i’m done being fat and gained enough muscle, what is the key to maintaining that muscle while i work To loose the fluff?
I am honored to be included here!
Lifting weights and eating protein
Keep training the way you did to put on the muscle.
Keep your protein high.
Dont cut too hard.
Anabolics can help retain muscle.
About the “no time for cardio” thing… do you have 15 minutes to go for a quick walk in the morning, evening, or after you train?
Thats all my cardio is. Walking fast.
If looking jacked is the primary goal, I do certainly recommend following a bodybuilding routine and I certainly think Doggcrapp is a great fit. You only need 3 lifting days a week and you just need to dedicate yourself to eating the adequate amount of protein to ensure proper recovery. Of course I think sticking to fresh meat, eggs, fruit and veggies as food sources is ideal but it’s good to supplement with protein powder to fill in the gaps. If you prefer to train more frequently I could help you out with that too.
+1 for DoggCrapp
No one has ever gotten small running this
Thsnks for the info… i could try to squeeze in 15min, but I’m usually running out of time by the time my workout is finished.
Roger that, thank you
Thanks for replying, what is the Doggcrapp?
