Training Legs

Some of the guys on this site suck ass. All I’ve heard for years is people calling others out for leg shots. This thread should be fucking overflowing with leg pics from everyone who was always calling all of those people out.

We have WOMEN with more leg mass apparently. Do the rest of you even train legs?

Dudeabids, good work, mom-in-md, good work…synergy…what the hell, man. You didn’t have to make the rest of us look bad. Shit.
Lol assuming half the people who make comments like that even work out…
It has become a meme. If someone’s built, but has slightly less impressive legs than upper body, every skinny ass kid can call him out on it and instantly be superior. No experience, results, or expertise required. When talking to people about training, surprisinly many will say ’ yeah, and it’s so stupid to just train your upperbody and get huge while walking around on stick legs’…like most bodybuilders actually have no legs.
Its the weekend warriors, the “Im badass so i train chest and arms” who have no legs. Anyone who has earned the title ‘Bodybuilder’ has come to the realization of all their muscles and what they need to do in the gym. A Bodybuilder is someone who can go in, regardless of how their day has went or how they feel, and get some serious training done. The people who dont train their legs are the same people you see with decent arms that are too big for their tiny body, a good size front delt, and a weak, small, frail looking back, with 1/2 of their delt looking like itd been chopped off.

I hope this thread is a good wake up call for some people out there. If you dont train your legs intensely, if you dont take them seriously, you will not succeed in this sport.

Dont be a Top, do them squats!

just bumping!

And requesting a ‘Back,’ thread if there already isn’t one…

You can call it ‘Baby got Back?’ I spent all day thinking that up

Great thread, I really need to check the Bodybuilding forum more often, usually I just hit BOI and Beginner’s and leave.

Few questions:

 1. I’ve always wondered but have never figured out what if anything is the difference between a split squat and a lunge? Is it just a static lunge?
 2. It feels really awkward and strange to do front squats with the arms crossed method. I recently tried doing it with a clean style of grip and that was a bit better but wondering if there are any other good ways to grip the bar?
 3. Does anyone use Goblet squats?
 4. Does anyone use any dynamic exercises like box jumps?

And my legs are tiny but I’ll post a picture tomorrow for ya guys.

Thought I’d share my wheels [photo]28711[/photo], also I would agree that walking lunges are the way to go when it comes to lunges, something about them is just hard as hell.

Why? its gonna be a thread about the Back, not Some Nanny Boy little Sissy, jerk, monkey faced…buttfaced…dumb…face…hoe.

I forgot to mention SteelyD. Those are some powerful legs…but I was still expecting more the way people were calling others out.

It doesn’t seem like most on this board even have legs bigger than 28-29" around.

With all of the “squats and milk” claims and all of the “powerlifters” here, where are the big quads to match the claims?

You can’t exactly hide legs that are really strong. No one squats 400+ for reps with tiny bird legs…yet we get only a few pics…despite of the Hercules claims all over the site.

What gives?

 5. Lunge = torso goes forward/backward and down. Split quat= torso goes down.

 6. No weight doesn’t really get heavy enough to stimulate legs IMO

 7. No, don’t really think they represent the best BB exercises. If your goals are not BB then they are tried and tested.

Sorry bout that Akuma!

Ok, I’ll take stab at this…
does anyone here have knee issues that prevent them from doing certain lifts? How do you work around that, and has it impacted your growth?

Always had big legs around 28/29 inches and I did minimal leg work because I wanted my upper body to catch up.
My leg day basically was squats, calf raises and hamstring curls or deadlifts and I seem to get good results from any kind of training low or high reps/weight.

x100billion, man the amount of the people on this site claiming 400lb squat is astounding, When squating 400lbs is pretty fucken impressive and people squating that much for reps would have pretty decent legs

maybe the powerlifters are in the powerlifting forum and not checkin in over here? But besides that I agree with everything you’ve said. Leg call outs are all over the place but leg pics are a rarity

I can throw a pic up. I would claim to be a powerlifter more so than a bodybuilder but I have never officially competed in either. My legs measure around 27". I guess I did not think that being able to squat 405 for reps is that great of an accomplishment.

Yes, I took this pic in a changing room while trying to find a pair of khakis.

It isn’t, but we have had people on a bodybuilding forum after years of training post legs that were only 25" around…and they wrote that they thought the rest of us had a skewed perception because he really thought that was big (speaking of Nards just in case someone acts like I am afraid to state names).

With all of the claims flying all over the place as far as strength, the ones posted seem to be the best legs we have on the site…and that isn’t very good.

I consider myself as having much to work on…but some of these guys are still at beginner status despite several training years.

I don’t get it.

Everyone is quick to call someone else out but rarely do they have the nuts to post their own progress.

I guess lack of results is why.

Some People arent setting the bar high enough, that coupled with the fact that they have a an unrealistic view of themselves in that they think they are bigger than they actually are.

I am never happy with how i look, and am still mortified to take off my shirt even around friends that ive known for 15yrs, but im like this because my standards are held at Olympia competitor height. I see myself in the mirror and am disgusted because im not big enough, lean enough, or strong enough. But its that very disgust that fuels me. I often equate what we do to Climbing a mountain, where contention leads to slipping, falling, and an eventual snowballing effect.

Funny how when you’re mocking 29" legs when you’ve quoted yourself slightly over 30…

Unless you consider your leg development poor for the amount of years you’ve been lifting, there’s a problem there.

^^^ Ah shit…

WTF? Who was mocking 29" legs? I just congratulated steely on having good leg development when his are 28". Your post doesn’t even make sense.

Look, we get it, some of you like responding just to see your post count go up so you direct some lame ass post this way. It got old about 6 years ago.

Do better next time.

If this wasn’t your intent, then there’s no problem.

(And lol@“bumping my post count”. You got me - I really wanted that 47th post within a year of being here.)

They’re actually ~28.25 here, not 28.5, but it was hard to hold the tape measure in place with one hand while taking a picture and the measure got slightly crinkled.
