Figured I’d check in and see whats going on over here…looks like lots of solid work. Squats and pulls look good!

Thanks Bear, You said in the OH thread you have trouble with the log. If you want some advice critique on it send me a PM. I’ve spent a lot of time getting my tech right on it

I still can barely walk from that shit! The wraps were super loose. They were the least of my concerns after that set haha

If I have one shitty workout of the week please let it be bench
After the 315x20 squats walking has sucked and still does and I believe will continue too. My everything is sore. My strict press seemed to be sucking and bench was good benching on Monday and overhead on Thursday so I switched them up as I’d rather have a good overhead cause no one lays down before they kick some ass. I switched the days and guess what now my bench feels like crap it worked! If it sucks next week I’ll lower my training max and work on the higher reps for the pump brah. #brotalk

Thanks man I really appreciate it I’ve been working on this for 5+ years first time I squatted was 95x10 and I was sore for a week lol

If you like strongman stuff find a group and start training it on the weekends!

Events day solo at my house
Had to lift solo at my house. Kinda nice to sleep in eat 6 eggs 5 strips of bacon and way to much cheese all scrambled together (with some diced broccoli…) got to keep it healthy! :slight_smile: instead of driving 50 miles at 7am. Of course intensity is down and its a lot more boring and mundane by yourself in the woods.

Thanks, the event is all for 3 stairs going 270, 290, 320. they are solid one piece with a handle at the comp and smaller so a lot easier to use. This is the best way I have to train the event. Should be much easier at the comp

Went yesterday up to Super Training gym to help my friend Doug compete. I was going to do this meet but needed a break as this would have been my 10th competition this year.

Doug broke the national record in the SPF for Squat and deadlift and missed out on the total by about 20lbs (his 3rd squat would have got it for him)

I want to be 50 and still hitting 600lb deads like cake…

Hey sorry… somehow I missed this post!

I do love watching strongman stuff but I have been reluctant to start training it… I’m 5’2"… I don’t know if I could ever be competitive (and I would want to be).

I have been looking more and more into buying fat bars, log bars, farmer walk handles, stone molds, etc though… just because I think it would make training a lot more fun for me. I have a home gym so it’d add some much needed variety. I was actually considering going into the woods today with a wheel barrow and trying to find a big ass rock to do stone carries with… lol.

And great job on the progress man… you made some awesome progress for 5 years! I hope I can put up similar numbers some day. :slight_smile:

Thanks yeah I am short for strongman as well at 5’6. It really does suck for almost all events. You need to take more steps on all the walking events, loading stones to platforms… But yeah can still train the stuff and its great for getting you bigger/stronger in general

Felt strong each rep felt fairly tough, I was able to hit better depth in the OLY shoes but it made it feel way more quad dominant which isnt a bad thing for me. Just felt a little different which made it seem harder in a different way.

Bench Press played around with moving my grip out on bench to more of a comp grip, it felt good but it just feels silly gonna ditch it.
