Training Equiptment UK

Does anyone know of any uk websites to get equiptment from?

bump

what kind of equipment? standard? olympic? Machines? sandbags?

???

Try there…

I can link you to a UK forum where you’d get an answer fairly quickly but i don’t wish to do so incase they’re seen as a competitor for T-Nation. Drop me a PM.

Looking for bands, chains, strong man eq, grippers (coc) different bars, wrist roller, farmers walks.

also sleds.

Just a few websites I know of to get you started.

I’m sure others can chip in with a few more sites for you.

Jon

these guys do relatively cheap power racks and packs of plates:

now obviously it ain’t no elitefts but I once investigated shipping charges across the pond. ouch.

Anyone know where in the UK one can get solid rubber bumper plates?

be careful what you wish for mick

not wishing to be ungrateful, but those ones are rubber-edged, I was after solid ones.

this might turn into an organisational nightmare for me, but…

…I’m likely to put in an elitefts order in the next few months.

if anyone else wanted some equipment we could fill more of a shipping crate between us and bring the shipping cost down. (I’m going to start getting quotes from shipping agents at some point soon.)

I’m after a couple of power racks and GHRs, a prowler, some sleds and a bunch of other things like blast straps etc.

just an early thought. let me know if you’re interested.

Hi
I ordered a whole load of stuff from Elite last year; $6’000 worth and with import tax and shippiong it all came to about ?6’000 which IMO was still worth while.

If you’re doing this phone Dave, Jim, or Matt first (from UK 001 888 854 8806) and they’ll be able to help.

As regards UK suppliers Pullum are very good, I’ve used them a lot over the past few years although it can be expensive, you yanks just don’t realise how lucky you are!

I’ve also used aerobic-fitness.co.uk for some cheap stuff and they were ok, they took quite a while to deliver tho.

There is another company that I haven’t used yet but they look interesting- londonkettlebells.net, they seem to have a lot of the stuff that the original poster was looking for.

As for rubber plates; I’ve used hampton and they can be very hard to get on and off the bar, as in they stick -I’m not a wimp honest! For cheap rubber rimmed plates try fitness-superstore.co.uk.

I hope some of this has been useful. PM me if you need any other info.

Chris

Thanks Chris. A couple of those were new to me. I’ve got pullum’s catalogue, but like you say, they are expensive. (Not necessarily their fault though)

Here’s another one - Has anyone found a decent standalone dip bar.

jordanleisure used to do a good one, but I can’t find it in their latest catalogue.

ta

PS: I’m going to give serious consideration to a rented-van roadtrip to sweden to pick up some eleiko bumpers… (Although I might conclude that the plates are too extravagent).

Hi Lummox
I bought some Eleiko bumper weights a few years back (from Pullum); while nice to have I now think I was a bit extravagant with that purchase. If you do a lot of O-lifting then it’s worth it.

I have body solid dip bars and they’re ok, a bit lightweight but ok. Thry’re about ?150 from body-solid.co.uk or strangely enough a lot of body solid stuff is cheaper at the fitness superstore.

Regards Chris

i bring you money. yes?

seriously if you plan on selling any in the future…

Check out ebay for sleds in the UK, there is one on there now I saw.

I was always going to get Hampton bumpers or similar, Glenn Pendlay does a decent deal on a set. Never saw the point of paying Eleiko prices unless you are running a comp.

I’ll bear that in mind but unless I have a nasty accident…we all know who the main suspect would be:)

If you’re ever in South London let me know and I’ll let you touch one of my Eleiko plates, I’ll even let you lift my Atlas stone; if you’re anything like your avatar it won’t be a problem for you.

Cheers Chris
