Holding a “plate” behind your head, in the decline position, would work better than a dumbell. Also, since you are in the decline position, the situp is already harder. So, you probably would not need a 100lb dumbell. If you did that for sets, I’m thinking it would be much more efficient than regular crunches with a dumbbell on your chest.
Or, you could load the plate on your chest, instead of behind your head.
