Tough Mudder

^ Yes Crossfit, I figure one day a week will not make me grow a vagina and start wearing spandex every where I go. I need some cardio and its fucking cold outside right now. My knees cant take that shit.

As a side note the other night at twin peaks with the wife and two of her girlfriends. And this kid is sitting at a bar stool with Vibrams on. I couldnt help but laugh and point at him. Who the hell wears something like that out to a bar. [/quote]

Stands up from my seat and stares at the side of your head blankly

My roommate just did this last Saturday (in Vermont, I think?) and loved it. Lotta barbed wire, mud, electric shocks and spray downs with a hose… so, pretty much just like the basement to my apartment minus the shackled illegals.

She fractured something in her hand, needs to get her ankle looked at, has a tasteful assortment of bruises/lumps over her body and had to be rescued when her legs numbed up in a lake or something. She still finished it and said it was one of the toughest/most fun things she’s ever done.

The pictures she took definitely piqued my interest in this… so, if T-Nation: New England wants to get all functional and crash one next spring/summer, I’ll bring the baby oil.

I just ran Run for you Lives this Saturday in Amesbury, MA … It wasn’t quite a tough mudder (only a 5k) but it was definitely muddy, had some obstacles and a lot of zombies (who were obstacles in themselves).

There’s a Spartan Sprint at the same course I ran in Amesbury in August that I’m thinking of signing up for … it looks pretty hard core tbh

Barbed Wire, Lance wielding Spartans, other assorted obstacles, probably knee deep mud again…

Here’s a video from last year: Disclaimer - there’s Journey music involved so …

Okay so that means you wear these out in public and not working out?

I have done Beachapoloza and warrior dash so far, plan to do spartan and mudder in the near future.

You should do the one in october!!

Just a short hop up 290!!! DO ITTT!!!

Did the one in VT this past weekend. Cramped up a few times but they had medics handing out salt packets which helped. Still bruised and cut to shit and I can’t wait till next year.

For the New Englanders:

The price tag has me debating, but I might have to do it.

Yeah, I’ll be doing the Tough Mudder here in CO.

It’s from 8k - ~11k in elevation.

This is undoubtedly the creme de la creme of the Tough Mudder competitions, I’ve heard.

How was that race? Did you make it out with your brains intact?

I think my roommate was considering doing that event… at least, I remember thinking about what a hilarious concept that is at some point this semester. I’m definitely gonna give it a shot next time around.

The Spartan Sprint definitely requires some Google research… it sounds pretty promising and it’s far enough in the future that I can get my cardio back in time to not completely embarrass myself.

It was pretty fun. A lot of zombies … I’m glad I started doing HIIT for the past few months as there’s more short bursts of speed to get through/around zombies than any real steady jogging. A lot of mud and a few obstacles. My wife, brother-in-law, and I had a great time. And, we all “died” so… lots of zombies

No, just given you shit. I wear them in public if I am just running doing chores. However, when I go to the bar I have my boots on and am all cleaned up, woman or not.
