Tough Mudder

I’m just waiting for the Tough Mudder WA state pre-registration to come out so I can sign up for that. Already added in a couple of cardio/running days, since there is no way I could normally run for two to three hours straight.

Just for comparison-
Tough Mudder: a 7 mile run with ~19 obstacles along the way. Average times are around 2.5 hours.
Warrior Dash: a 3 mile run with ~10 obstacles along the way. Average times are around 35 minutes.
I’m planning to sign up for that too. We should form a T-Nation team.

As a side note the other night at twin peaks with the wife and two of her girlfriends. And this kid is sitting at a bar stool with Vibrams on. I couldnt help but laugh and point at him. Who the hell wears something like that out to a bar.
Guilty.

But then again I’m married and I just don’t give a fuck anymore.

This is going to be hilarious…

Alpha I was checking out the blog, is your training just generally geared towards stuff like the tough mudder or do you have a specific routine you’re doing for it.

well, Tough Mudder is just a fun thing i am doing…I train for the fight every single day brother! that’s why I follow this: 国产精品久久99,国产精品久久国,国产精品久久国产精品99,345电影院日韩女性性开放视频,欧美在线无码的动态,韩国爆操swag

Keeps me as strong as I have ever been while upping my conditioning…you should try it out brother!

Did the tri-state one in November, got drunk afterward.

Forgot the point of the story.

I’m doing the Southern California one in May.

Thanks Alpha, I think you’ve convinced me. I’m gonna give one of those workouts a shot tomorrow and I’ll let you know how it goes!

I did the tri-state one in November. Everybody ran through the electrified lines screaming as they got zapped. I was strangely disappointed I didn’t get stung at all.

But the Jersey tough mudder was a little over 12 miles long. If your doing one, and your not used to running for long distances definitely train. I didn’t run enough before the race and during my runs preparing for it the longest one I did was maybe 4 or 5 miles. Come mud run day I hit the 9 mile mark and my hip flexors tightened up severely haha. It was quite painful the rest of the way.

But its a lot of fun. Freezing cold, soaking wet, covered in mud, people in ridiculous outfits and everybody is pulling for each other and helping each other out. And some of the obstacles are pretty bad ass like running through fire, jumping off a 20 ft ledge into an ice cold lake, and chasing a monster truck down a drag strip for the 1st quarter mile.

You should have no trouble with the obstacles if you go to the gym and lift on a regular basis, but if you don’t run often, surviving 12 miles is gonna be your real test.

Alpha, thanks for posting that video man. That was awesome!

I wonder how it worked that not everyone got zapped though…

Looks like a lot of fun. I did the warrior dash last year and look forward to the NC event this year again. I think doing the Ruck event would be fun, but i am gona have to up my cardio a bit before doing that one…

question:

Any one have a suggestion for someone who wears glasses on these? I have been tempted to get a prescription pair of glasses that have a band to hold them tight against my head. I hate contacts and am allergic to 2 of the 3 cleaning solutions so those are out …

Signed up for one in October about 45 minutes from my house, got a group of around 15 going. We are all trying to get with that group that wears weighted rucks and does every challenge a little differently (and harder). I am really excited about it, thanks Alpha.

Alpha, I just tried this workout: 国产精品久久99,国产精品久久国,国产精品久久国产精品99,345电影院日韩女性性开放视频,欧美在线无码的动态,韩国爆操swag. It was brutal, but awesome. Thanks for sharing such great stuff.

I did the one in Nov. at Tri-State. Had a terrific time. Word of warning, though your joints and lower body take a beating over the long course. 12.2 miles run is a hell of a beating without the obstacles. I would recommend gearing down Tues/Wed. the week before and not planning on resuming normal training till Tues/Wed. the week after. Other than that, its a great time. I’m doing the next one in April in Allentown.

I think I’m going to be doing the spartan race rather than the tough mudder, the timing works out better.

Good luck to all of you heading out to do these, they should be a blast

Whenever Alpha writes the word ‘brother’, I read it in Hulk Hogans voice. Does anyone else do this?

^^ always

Anyone planning on doing the Austin event? Some friends and I are doing it.
