He said there were minor STD deviations but he would consider my EKG normal at this time, not sure if I heard the abbreviation wrong or not
That’s good to hear. My cardiologist wasn’t as easy going, he doesnt understand why I was prescribed the medication in the first place, he doesnt figure it would be beneficial for me being that I’m in the mid to high 300s so “in range” says that fsh and LH are in range as well.
He does not want me to start it yet and referred me to a sexual health clinic I’m guessing an endocrinologist.
He than proceeds to tell me that there is a risk of testosterone accelerating cardiovascular disease and can increase the risk of stroke, and prostate problems.
I then said isn’t elevated testosterone levels actually beneficial for protecting against CVD and he says no it’s the opposite.
So that’s where that is.
I asked what makes it beneficial for other people than he says for symptom resolution, people who have trouble putting on muscle and cant grow facial hair erectile dysfunction,
I than said I have erectile dysfunction as well as a non existant libido.
So he says we will wait and see what the specialist says.
Basically he says he wants to know why I’m experiencing those symptoms, which I get 100%
He says testicles look good and everything else is in range.
He wants to rule out anything else physical so he can stamp on a psychological issue I guess lol.
Sorry to hear that’s how it went, I asked specifically about risks and my doctor told me that both too high and too low are bad. Even though I have this reaction personally I would tend to agree with him as I’ve read plenty of studies regarding the risks. If his T level was around 300 and he was having erectile problems he would probably change his tune
He thinks that I shouldn’t have any problems with low libido and ED at my age, says people in there 50s and 60s tend to have problems but usually because of their lifestyle and can be corrected through diet and exercise.
I guess it’s better to wait and see if there is any underlying cause first before I start trt,
I do not need his or the endo’s approval to proceed with it but would be nice if I didnt have to pay out of pocket for a private clinic.
Yeah it’s definitely best to find the underlying cause because this entire process of going doctor to doctor is a pain in the ass…
Last night I was feeling pretty good, I took my prescribed metoprolol and actually made it to the gym, where I did not have any issues for once. I felt pretty great, not overexcited or anything
It seems I feel worse in the mornings, although my libido is finally going up I have an overall “unwell” feeling. I feel pretty depressed in general, my hands and feet have become quite cold and I just have a sick feeling in my chest, although the tightness is now minimal. Kind of feels like I am on the verge of illness. Pulse has normalized as well. I guess a lot of this could be side effects of the beta blocker itself.
Trying to remain optimistic, the longer I am into TRT without feeling better the more discouraged I get, as I know that each day that my ability to produce naturally declines.
Get the cream and most of these problems will probably go away. If not they will go away faster.
What makes you say that? Personal experience?
If I had problems with one form of TRT I would try another. I’ve suggested scrotal cream to a few men when they had crazy weird symptoms like anxiety and or it didn’t improve libido and they improved with cream. You can find more info on lifting dermatologist YouTube channel. He has some great informational videos on this form Of trt.
Half life is 12 hours. It doesn’t absorb and flow through the liver. There are zero esters and chemically it’s different than the oil.
Who knows might help. Just a thought.
I’m on cream and love it. Many guys are. Most are on injections. Whatever works for you is good.
Hmm well if this continues I will definitely ask about it. I assume that means it is better for your liver?
I’m feeling better this evening, have cold feet and still a weird chest feeling but it isn’t bad. Cold feet could be the metoprolol as well. I think part of this is me having a-fib that one time while I was having this weird sensation. So now every time I feel the strange chest thing I associate it with a-fib and start worrying that I will lose my normal heart rhythm. I’m trying to keep in mind that when I had the arrhythmia I had much more anxiety, I had just made a huge change in dosage (120 to 160 mg and .5 mg anastrozole to 2mg , with 2000 iu of hcg) and I was on once a week injections. It happened three days after that changed. I also had about a ten second bout of afib prior to that before I knew what it was, and this was about 2-3 days after I was front loaded with a 200mg dose before going on a work trip. Something tells me those sudden huge increases (and maybe the hcg, which caused a strange feeling in my neck and increased heartbeat even without T) had something to do with it. Honestly if it were to happen again I’d rather treat/risk the afib and stay on the testosterone. Low T is awful, I would not wish it on my worst enemy
You just need a good doc who will consult. Like anabolic doc. By consult I mean a trt doc consults your other docs and educates them.
If you are starting to feel good hang in there bro. Stick with the dose and don’t focus so much on every heart beat or tightness. I get a tight chest and worry sometimes, but always remind myself it’s prob muscle and etc
Stay positive. Don’t analyze every issue. It will get amplified because your fears convert into physical production of cortisol and etc. t
Good luck hope this works for ya
No T is not bad for your liver. It’s just the liver processed the T, meaning SHBG has more of an effect and more of the body is effected. Cream doesn’t need to worry about shbg as much and the conversion to estrogen , DHT is much different.
Still chugging along, starting to feel pretty great mentally. I get headaches and higher heart rate that still match up with the peaks of my injections so I’m hoping that once I reach steady state in a week or two that that goes away. No crazy erections or anything yet but my drive in general is definitely increasing and more girls are starting to become attractive to me. This damn chest tightness just needs to go
Well, right after I said I was feeling good I’m gonna have to take that back. Wild palpitations last night working out, I am feeling exceptionally tired and dizzy this morning, like I’m going to pass out at any second. My heart beat feels very weak (I have to press into my neck quite a bit to feel it) and is much higher today, resting around 90. I feel pretty cold and sick. Feels like I’m dying again and I’m getting massive anxiety. Is this a cortisol thing or what?
Still feeling awful this evening, my feeling of impending doom is sky-high right now. I feel a little itchy, extremely lightheaded and nauseous. It almost feels like I have low blood sugar but I can’t get any food down. I’m starting to think high estrogen? Nipples don’t really itch but I’ve had gynecomastia removal so there likely isn’t much there to stimulate. I just ordered labs which I will have done tomorrow morning, I ordered:
Testosterone Free/Total
Estradiol (sensitive)
CBC with differential/platelet
FreeT3/FreeT4/TSH
Cortisol
Aldosterone
I’m thinking that after I run this lab I may take a .125mg arimidex to see if anything changes. I’m thinking maybe high estrogen at the moment. Anyone else get extremely panicked/impending feeling of doom/death when their estrogen gets high?
I’m guessing that since you started this post 24 days ago that you’ve been on this protocol for less than a month. You aren’t going to feel good for 6-8 weeks after starting. The more shit you change the longer it’s going to take. Every time you start feeling bad just tell yourself it’s temporary. If that doesn’t help enough then jump into a freezing cold shower. Sounds stupid but it works. Sudden temperature change throws your body into shock and will effect your state of mind. Kind of like a reset. I heard it from Tony Robbins and thought it was full of shit until the situation I was in was bad enough I’d try anything. It works. Sucks for a few mins but works. Other that you have to man up and stick it out for 2 months and it’ll get better.
I’m working on sticking it out, health anxiety + TRT is pretty hard to manage if I’m being honest.
So lets say my e2 comes back high now 1 month in, would you recommend still not adding any AI or reducing dose until 6 weeks?
Stop thinking estrogen is the reason for all your symptoms. Your body is not used to hormones so yah you’ll have symptoms. Itchy nipples, mood swings and water retention. Not what you are describing. If anything you just need to wait for your labs.
Great advice here. Estrogen is not his problem.
How were you feeling the first 8 weeks? just looking for reassurance if anything
