ive never had much red meat in my diet, actually none in the last year or so.
however it gives me another protein source and i keep hearing about how good red meat is for bodybuilding by many in the AD thread.
so in the last week i’ve added steak (top round london broil) to my diet, only about 7g of fat in 4oz. of it so it’s not too high in fat. i have 3-6oz. a day so is that fine? occasionally i hear stuff about it being bad but that doesnt make a lot of sense to me if its a fairly lean cut. you obviously need some fats so what else would be a problem?
The saturated fat/b vitamins/creatine help support testosterone production. I have it at least 1x a day, usually 2x. I’ve noticed that when I’m at school and don’t have nearly as much red meat, taking creatine works. However, when I’m home, like now, and eating that much red meat, I get very little effects from creatine.
It doesn’t really, as long as it’s quite lean. If not you could just be getting the fat of the animal. Don’t worry about it, unless you’re looking to LOSE weight.
Remember, very little in the nutrition world is set in stone. There are many exceptions to the “rules” you commonly hear. Rules such as “don’t eat red meat everyday” has exceptions, as I’ve already mentioned.
If I eat too much steak ie 4 meals out of the day aside from being expensive I can’t shit worth a fuck. I only have on steak meal per day in order to about such a dilemma.
why would it add fat any faster than other foods though?
I never said it did. The key word(s) in my comments above are: TOO MUCH. Too much of any food will make you fat.
But since you asked, steak is really high in saturated fat. So, eating 500 calories of steak is more fattening than eating 500 calories of chicken.

Of all places to perpetuate this fiction… THIS place???
Well like i said i have anywhere from 3-6oz. a day. each 4oz. piece only has about 3g of saturated fat and 7.5g of fat so that sat. fat isnt that bad and you need some anyway right?
lol today i got tired of chewing so i just tried to swallow this big ass piece…not a smart idea lol

I can’t believe this crap. Red Meat is an excellent source of protein, vitamins, creatine, you name it. Of course you shouldn’t eat the fattiest cuts, but talking about getting clogged up? Eat some brocoli or fiber, c’mon, you guys should know this stuff.
I knew a guy when I lived in L.A. who would eat cubed steak with rice and brocoli every 2 hours when he was bulking, and the guys was the size of a house.
Hardly. It’s more like a good size for one meal, with a couple of those each day. If you’re worried about fat on steak just cut it off and don’t eat it.
Man, at 6’0 tall and 154 lbs, with two years of training as your stats say, the last thing you need to do is worry about macro-nutrient micro management.
