LOL.

Clearly, some of you see what you want to see.

This thread is what, 31 pages now? It may be just me, but after all of that, how much have some of you changed about yourselves? I mean, unless in the midst of trying to spot every personal defect you can in my life, you have found yourselves to be truly the picture of perfection.

Please, post perfected physiques and inhumanly humble pictures of yourselves after this post:

Let me first start by saying that I watched all of the training videos and it’s always interesting to see how different coaches or “gurus” are training people, so it was cool to watch. However, I’m not sure why you can’t see where some of the criticism is coming from? I mean let’s be real, the way you conduct yourself on the forum can often be condescending and arrogant (as if you know everything). Argue that all you want but if enough people agree then maybe it’s time you give it a little bit of credence.

As for the videos I have to say I wasn’t that shocked, you are from the school of thought where you bulk, bulk, bulk and then lift as heavy as possible. Nothing is wrong with that and it works for many people, but there are different ways to skin a cat. Just because someone may be less developed than you or not doing what YOU think is right does not necessarily make them wrong or not as good as you. Your form was pretty terrible, watching the rope hammer curls was painful as you shrugged the weight and used mostly your back. Nobody is taking away anything you have accomplished, you obviously are a big/strong dude. I think you would be surprised at how much weight you would need to lose to be truly ripped and that is why you have never done it. In my personal opinion I think you are slightly scared to lose weight and not be as big, I mean aren’t all of us bodybuilders like that at some point? Of course, but I found that I made the most gains once I humbled myself. Whether it be the weight I use, who I listen to, things I’m willing to try, etc.

I have found that being open minded in this sport is extremely beneficial because as they say, the best workout is the one you aren’t doing. There is a place for TUT, heavy pressing, machines, volume, deloading, sled work, cardio, any and everything. Not to kick you while you are down but you should be further along than you are given age/and experience (I understand injuries, we all have them) but also you have a great frame and could look ridiculous one day. The reason for the backlash is because you are a polarizing figure on these boards and that’s fine but with that territory may come some criticism. Keep training hard.

I really agree with this.

Professor X’s attitude, air of superiority, condescension, and self perception as some sort of idol simply don’t match up with the appearance or training ability.

Actions speak louder than words (typed ones included).

Sorry to derail (lol) but Matteus dude you’re looking awesome man.

I am just like I’ve written. My pictures have been posted on this site for years now, especially over the last few months…so anyone acting as if they didn’t know what I looked like until these videos seems to miss quite a bit. I was not “genetically gifted” as a kid in the sense that I started this smaller than many of you started. That pic from high school wasn’t made up. If you see transformations like that everyday, please point them out.

An “idol”? Please. I am just a poster on this site who can apparently spark a 30+ page thread with minimal entry by himself where guys like you spend pages literally discussing how I don’t measure up.

Actions do speak louder than words…like nearly 30lbs lost in a little over 2 months with no loss in muscle mass recovering from an accident.

Actions also speak louder in that I have tried to help quite a number of people here over the years and from what I can tell, I did that to a noticeable degree.

Superiority? Let me ask you this…what puts you on a level to point out my faults without pointing out any of your own?

I am not “superior”. I am a hard worker who works out like he studies and does business.

My goal is progression. If I am even in near the same place next month as right now then I’ve fucked up…and that is my goal in all aspects of my life.

Pleasing your perceptions of me is not the goal.

Self improvement is.

What about yourself do YOU need to work on?

Anything?

My “analysis” was a question…one that more than one poster now has avoided to keep the focus on me.

Treating people badly? Guy, Bonez on this site has even more of an attitude yet no backlash at all.

Someone truly concerned about how nice everyone plays would not allow that. This is a popularity contest, nothing more.

So, once again, what do YOU need to work on?

Also, I wrote this two days ago in the Zyzz thread. Let’s see what happens:
I am going to write this and see what it leads to.

I openly apologize to anyone who even remotely thinks anything I have written is in an effort to slow anyone down. My goal was to motivate others which in turn helps motivate me. I haven’t attacked anyone in this thread. I am stating clearly that my goal is to move in a positive direction.

I don’t really care what many think…at least not anymore. I have too many other goals at this point and that type of thinking does nothing but slow progress.

If that rubs someone the wrong way, that guy in the mirror may need some work too.
Always and forever, that’s why I’m in the gym everyday at 5:45AM, and in church every Sunday at 8.

That doesn’t change the fact that your actions don’t nearly live up to your words and the ego that surrounds them.

Great. That is your opinion. Every person who anyone notices will have to deal with other people not thinking they are good enough.

It’s a good thing I’ve had practice there my whole life, huh?

Why would my or anyone else’s “ego” be your concern and how do you know mine when we have never met?

I asked WHAT needs work on you. You didn’t answer. That question seems way tougher than I thought.

I notice you wrote you go to church. My dad was a preacher. What happened to “though shall not judge”?

Luke 6:37 may need some review.

You think I have a bigger attitude than you? lulz. What is this 10th grade?

This is your go-to defense whenever someone says that you act like a dick too often. Worry about yourself, THEN concern yourself with how others interact with each other.

Yeah, whatever X.

It’s clear that you don’t have the courage to admit your faults in public. So be it.

I won’t waste anymore of your time or mine. If you want to believe that all these people commenting are wrong, that’s certainly your right.

But hopefully, some of what people are saying is getting through. Or not.

Oh, and I need to work on helping my wife more around the house, not letting the stess of life get to me, and a tendency toward perfectionism.
? I actually just apologized…twice in two different threads.

You have ignored this. Someone would only do that if that wasn’t really the issue.
Chushin wrote:

“Slow someone down” =/= be a condescending, arrogant jerk.

You want to apologize for the treating people badly?

I’ll jump right over to your side, chief.
I treated you badly? To my knowledge, our last confrontation was me asking why you criticize others with no pictures posted.

I am going to guess we got no apology from you for that.

So, here you go…I apologize if I made some of you feel bad for whatever reason. It is a testament to the power of words that it can cause a reaction like this…but if that is now my responsibility, I accept it.

Once again, my goal is to help people. I asked you to put yourself out there for critique like you did to others. If this hurt your feelings specifically, I do not apologize for that.

I’m gonna give my 2 cents worth or two pennies worth (since I’m in the uk). I’ve been a member on this site for probably ten years now and though I don’t post much I enjoy reading the articles and posts from people who at the end of the day all enjoy working out and lifting.

It seems to me the main issue with all the clashes with X have been based on what we each want to achieve from lifting. Some just want to get strong some just want to get huge some want to be big but stay athletic some don’t mind getting to 20% bf some do.
Yes this site is predominantly a bodybuilding site but that doesn’t mean to say that some of us don’t have any other sporting endeavours.
I also understand that probably the most efficient way to put on muscle is to eat train eat train which is probably what X has been doing for a long time but by doing so put on a little fat and hasn’t become fit in terms of his cardio. I don’t have an issue with that, nobody should, but personally I want to be able to put on muscle, look good and also be fit. I don’t want to get easily gassed out when pushing a prowler.

I don’t use any machines in the gym other than say the leg extension but I don’t have a problem with people who do!
I also just want to say to X that I think it was very cool of him to put himself under the spotlight and train with CT, I think we were all probably comparing ourselves to you and how we would have responded there!
It’s only when you start trying to add another factor to your training like trying to get fitter or leaner or for those on the other end of the spectrum who have those traits but are trying to put on muscle that we realise what all the fuss is about.

Sorry for my bit of mental diarrhoea I think I will now go back to lurking!

Keep lifting and learning.

Good post.

Six months ago, I was walking with a limp still and could barely train legs. I hadn’t done real cardio since before the previous October due to that. i agree with you, your cardio health is important. I am just writing that because anyone who even thinks I was in the same shape as that “before” pic even one full year ago is mistaken.

I didn’t start getting back in shape until the beginning of April.

X - How many times are you going to apologize?
zercher thread

This thread

Some may want a pound of flesh i guess.

People still have issues- fuck em!

Did some direct arm work today - 18" pre pump. I’m so awesome!!!

I think Bonez is pretty damn hilarious at times when people ask REALLY stupid stuff. But he also really knows what he’s talking about and is willing to share that too [IMO]

If you want to know what I’m working on… where I’m falling down… I’m retraining into a different career path while working five days a week to pay the bills cause I’m not bringing in enough money and taking care of my future.

I’m learning to drive, cause I only ever had a motorcycle license in the past and if I wanna do the job I wanna do, I’ll need to get that sorted. As well as for when I start a family

I wont have a day off in a year from any of that, but I’m STILL trying my hardest in the gym and still finding time.

So really… I need to work harder in the gym. I try. I’ve only put on about 30lbs in 2 years, still with an outline of abs. All personal shit aside, I think thats a little too slow but I TRY.

Bust my balls all you like for only gaining 30lbs. I hope in the next 2 years, I can gain somewhere close to that and still retain visible abs.

People aren’t knocking you for trying, they’re knocking you for your attitude IN THE PAST. Dont get caught up in going on the defensive with all this shit, you’ve already said haters are gonna hate. The best thing you can do is not bite!
