To Professor X

Prof X I read in your Indigo-3G log that your using the stair stepper as cardio because you don’t have access to a sled. I don’t have one either so I’m thinking of doing hill sprints instead. Question is, what do you recommend I do? As in, frequency, time of day, duration, should it be an all out effort, etc.?? What does Ct recommend for you? Btw, Im trying to get to real low bf if that helps.

Keep up the good work.
I am thinking of doing sprints tomorrow also. CT’s main recommendation seemed to be that he wanted me on the prowler daily. He seems to recommend it be done after the training session even though we did it as the first movement. I hope that helps you because that is all I can tell you for now.

I do know they seem to not recommend extensive mindless cardio. You lose muscle that way. Trust me, I’ve tried and the weight I lost recently was without any cardio at all.

I have no immediate plans of addding a normal “30-45min cardio session” like I have done in the past. My biceps shrink faster than my waist.

Professor X, why aren’t you perfect yet?
Because I’m not dead yet.
Prof., I’m surprised that nobody in this thread critiqued the impossibly immaculate condition of your teeth in the livespill pics. I would ask who your dentist was but I know you don’t have one and that TC blew his budget for the year by superimposing the teeth you don’t have into the vids. The budget didn’t stretch to your avatars, or to correcting your muscular imbalances, which is why you’re shot from behind in your avatar. Sorry, but the teeth gave the game away…they were a tad too perfect.

In fact, in one of the vids you moved your head too quickly and the virtual gnashers, well, not to put too fine a point on it, but they just stayed put. Shame…

Yes, those were “T-Nation Dentures”…copyright. They originally came with all black background.

They didn’t sell many back then.

@PX - Sorry if you answered this somewhere in this trainwreck, but of all the things you learned this past week, what do you think the most important thing was? Was there anything that you will immediately apply to your training?
"No one believes in you. Nobody cares about your hopes and dreams and what you want to do with your life. No one cares about your accomplishments, or what potential you have. No one thinks that you can do what you set out to do. You will get eyes rolled. You will get smirks and facetious “Good Lucks.” People will talk behind your back that you can’t make it to your goal.

Appreciate this. Use it as fuel. Burn it in effigy. Condense it into crystalized form, stir it into your coffee and drink it up. The only one that needs to believe in you is YOU. Charge forward in whatever you do with total disregard for the fact that you may fail. When you do fail, try again. All the new age self help toilet fodder is not going to replace you working your absolute ass off. This is free advice, so take it for what it is worth.

I don’t believe in you. Prove me wrong and laugh my famous laugh in my face."

I have been using a workout that is very similar to what Thibs has been doing in regards to volume and rest times along with Prowler work 3-4 nights a week with my son and it definitely works. Most Prowler sessions are not longer than 20-25 minutes but the EPOC is crazy.

Thib explained it well in one of the spills: the prowler is huge total work, but against resistance, which makes the body keep the muscle. Before prowler became popular, complexes were all the rage for the same reason.

I don’t have a prowler, so complexes are my choice of pain

There a pic on the forum somewhere of me pushing my bros car, drove it onto the local running track while we were doing some sprints and stuff there, car pushes were the finishers!

<----doesn’t want handprints on the stang.

Very appropriate for this thread. Also LOL at all the people who keep coming back in to say how much they don’t care about Professor X, but continue to criticize.

X - congrats on opening your new business. Also sounds like that Biotest trip has really given you the opportunity to prioritize your physique goals.

You, like all the rest of the Prof X haters, spout off shit just to make yourselves heard on these forums. You contribute nothing. I just returned the favor, “Yo”!

The Prof X “haters” are the only ones who are willing to do anything aside from tell him how awesome he is. Bodybuilding is about positive reinforcement along with a good deal of criticism. 99% of the posters in the bodybuilding forum have no concept or idea how to critique a physique, then see a big guy and fill that persons head with OMG YOU ARE SO AWESOME AND HUGE! They do this OVER and OVER again and delude the person into thinking they are some national caliber or pro look a like and it’s just sad.

a few thoughts

the only video I have watched in its entirety is the “shoulder strength” one, the amount of volume used was typical for me…difference I would have done more sets with less reps though…

point being for the people who are thinking that that is a “insane” amount of volume need to seriously look at there work ethic in the gym.

as far as all the jaw dropping outrage concerning all the “prof x hate” going on…I think you would have had to be member of this site for as long as I have to realize that what is happening is severe backlash /blowback form all the years X has been dishing out shit on this board.

I am surprised it took this long.

also, what a cool opportunity for all those guys to get a training vacation like that.

I would love to be there just to get some coaching from CT on Olympic lifting, as my numbers (up until my most recent neck injury) put me in the thick of things in actual competition, for my age and weight class. this even though I have never had any real coaching in the OL’s.

This x2
sorry…x
“x2” on the x -backlash, or the opportunity to train with a good coach?
Most certainly on the X Backlash
glad somebody realizes this besides me. people who do not see this either have not been on the site as long as I have, or have very selective memories.

the site has grown, and now their are a few “trolls” for lack of a better word, who are willing to bicker and go back and forth with X all day if need be.

I will also reiterate what I said on the other “haters” thread:

If you perceive you have “haters” you probably are giving yourself much more credit than you deserve.

really?

I know there are a lot of guys on this site who are bigger and stronger than me, but really?

how many TOP level competitive BBers, powerlifters, strongmen, olympic lifters post on this site.

I think there are a few WPO level PL here, but that is about it. I am talking about regular habitual posters who get into all the internet bickering.

how many of these people have really accomplished anything in the iron game?

If you are flinging your shit aimlessly on this site and think you have “haters” then trust me, you have a very exaggerated sense of self worth.
