To Professor X

lol, coach told me this year that 90% of people are “fucking negative assclowns”… you just learn after a while who to listen to and who doesn’t matter.

“Its mind over matter. I don’t mind, because you don’t matter.”

Not sure if I’ve heard that one before.

It’s not fair. It’s basically always been that way since I’ve been on here.

And to think that besides full retard threads like this one, the BB forum has actually been cleaner as of late.
So true on both points. This thread will die over the weekend tho and I hope the focus will go back to evan and BB’s threads, and others like it. You know, the threads I don’t comment on because I have nothing to offer but ball washing, so I just lurk and learn…

I was just saying that 315 front squats for a couple reps wasnt bad (cause thats where Im at lololol)
I really wish I focused on these from the get go to be honest. I really like them right now.

I got those manta-ray pads. I use them like every other session, really changes the lift. Helps me stay upright and not cut off as much air as when I don’t use them. I don’t like the back squat one they make, but really like the front squat ones…

Holy exponential growth in posts…the posts/hour density on this thread has to be approaching
a record value. Its almost as if all of the soon to be unemployed European short sellers have changed
their occupation titles to “Poster in Professor X Shit Storm Thread”

All threads about X are like this

A little before your time, but a gem nonetheless IMO.

X,

Not sure if you read my comments about breathing in the livespill, but I’ll give em here again. During a lot of the movements you tend to inhale during your concentric, and Exhale during the eccentric. This should be reversed.

Breath as deep as possible during the ECCENTRIC, and blast the breath just as you’re exploding on the concentric, or hold it till about midpoint (powerlifter stlye).

I recommend the right as you explode. Controlling your breathing during movements will help a SHIT TON. Believe me … No I’m not as big as you, in fact I’m small and weak - But just listen to this.

That is all.

I guess I’ve spent nearly an hour today letting the world know that Professor X is a liar who spews out posts of unsolicited advice by the thousands. And letting the world know that he clearly can’t claim any authority behind what he’s said because he’s too weak for his lifts to stand behind what he says and he’s too fat for his measurements to stand behind what he says.
This is just spectacular.

Now that I think about it, I’ve always tended hold my breath during the rep and breathe once, maybe twice, during the “rest” portion of the rep (top of the squat, bottom of the dead lift, top of the bench…)

I never saw a need to continuously breathe during every rep, but maybe you are on to something…

Oh… And professor X is weak as shit. Didn’t want this thread to get off track.

Exactly. They invited me to train here. Tim called me with CS and CT on the line as well. This was a great experience and no, it isn’t over. However, what is over is me worrying about shit like this.

On to bigger things and I have a lot of work to do. People can either help me or keep hating. Anyone not helping will just be ignored.

This isn’t a “shit storm” thread. It is just another cry for attention by some people.

Solid, I hope your training is going well. That is really all that matters.

Yeah, I normally do that…when I can breath normally. The difference here was me trying to get more air anyway I could…and it just so happened I got more doing it that way so I kept doing it.

I worked out the breathing issue years back. This was me training with very few breaks and trying not to have another attack like I did. It isn’t “textbook” and I am aware of that.

But thanks for the advice. Back home, my breathing will be normal.

I honestly hope this is true X. I hope you dont get sucked back in by the haters (cause EVERYONE knows they will try)

I dont know you at all, but from the posts i’ve seen recently (in here and the live spill) it seems as though you’ve “turned the corner” so to speak.

I hope this is the turning point for you and you take your shit to the next level because everyone loves a success story (even haters lol)

I know we’ve gone back and forth in the past before but I sincerely wish you all the best X. I have no vested interest in your progress but I truly hope you succeed.

time to kick some ass

I don’t really have a preference, I just thought it was funny that he did that when he called everyone else by their real names. I guess a part of it is that I’m curious what your first name is.
Why? What relevance in life would you need to know his first name? Not coming to his defense lord knows X can defend himself. But why cant he have or anybody have some privacy as a professional?
Because it’s 2011 and this is the internet. Duh.

It would be funnier if CT switched back and forth between ‘Fro-presser X’ and the other iterations of the name that came with the avatars. lol
Sorry Bones I forget and I guess the face palm is a big insult for the younger members.

Mr. whatever your name is and your gold medal avi, I apologize. I thought this topic has been covered many, many, many, many times. So for you to bring it up with what, some small hope that since you were asking X would reveal it to you?
You lost? Get A Life Section --------------------------------------->
Im old sometimes I wonder out to engage with the youth of today. It helps remind me why I think we should have forced military service for all 18-20 year olds.
Cool story bro. In the future, engage with someone else. I have zero desire to get into pointless debates with you. If I did, I’d post in GAL.
Who is getting in a debate? Are you trying to insult me for posting in GAL? You do realize I post in other areas, which is beside the point. I say in the future when you grow up engage with a young know it all. Then please remember and think fondly of me.
I post in GAL occasionally so it wasn’t meant as an insult. If I wanted to have a back and forth with you, I would have gone to GAL. I really want to know though, what makes me a know it all? The fact that I use perfect grammar and spelling on an internet forum because I know that otherwise I’ll be branded a 19 year old idiot who can’t even type properly? The fact that I’ve lived all over the world and the US in all types of living situations and because of that I say I have plenty of life experience for any age? Please, enlighten me. I have not made myself out to be smarter than you or anyone else. I’ve made it clear that I’m confused why everyone makes a big deal out of a non-issue. I’m not losing sleep over not knowing someone’s name on a forum.
It is because you bring up a MOOT topic, why bring it up. I never attacked you even though you took it that way. X has made it pretty damn clear, it is not like he is not precise in some topics. So why even comment on it, that was my only point. No matter how much you try subtle or blatantly ask that Hot Lesbian is not going to sleep with you. SHE IS GAY.

I made the comment and moved on. You know why I dont post in here, because the mentality of most young men. You dont want to listen to anything with balance and thought, most wear there heart on there sleeve. I was there and if you took a little time you would realize I am older than Beans and he and I are actually friends outside of TNation.

Wasnt say you were stressing about knowing X’s name, however to even ask or discuss it means some small part was hoping. No worries, I wont bother you. I have 5 kids most your age and a state to manage, I do not lose sleep over anything on TNation. Carry on and God Bless.
Wow who cares if someone asks for another person’s name for christ sake. You are making waaaaaaaay too much of this.
Wait so when do i get to find out professor X’s name?

^^ i thought it was pretty obvious… its Xavier

Looks this has sparked the beginnings of an attitude adjustment by X.

Glad to hear it.

If I’m exactly the same even 2 months from now I’ve failed…and that goes for my entire life, not just the gym.

I assume that includes the way in which you interact with other people?
Wtf, the dude is actually being nice and humble in this thread and on the livespill and for that matter around the forums. The only time he pisses at anyone are when they are NOT EATING or say inane bullshit like this.

I’m not an X fan or an X hater, and according to X I don’t belong here since I’m a hockey player not a bodybuilder. But none the less, I’d encourage him to just start ignoring everyone’s bullshit because it’s a waste of his time now.

a few thoughts

the only video I have watched in its entirety is the “shoulder strength” one, the amount of volume used was typical for me…difference I would have done more sets with less reps though…

point being for the people who are thinking that that is a “insane” amount of volume need to seriously look at there work ethic in the gym.

as far as all the jaw dropping outrage concerning all the “prof x hate” going on…I think you would have had to be member of this site for as long as I have to realize that what is happening is severe backlash /blowback form all the years X has been dishing out shit on this board.

I am surprised it took this long.

also, what a cool opportunity for all those guys to get a training vacation like that.

I would love to be there just to get some coaching from CT on Olympic lifting, as my numbers (up until my most recent neck injury) put me in the thick of things in actual competition, for my age and weight class. this even though I have never had any real coaching in the OL’s.
