TNT/Anabolic Diet: Carbs Around Workouts

Okay so I have been following the TNT Diet now for the past 5 weeks. I understand it is a knock off of the Anabolic Diet, or at least a spin off. However, something struck my attention. I feel I recall seeing where health concerns are only when high amounts of fat are mixed with carbs, and so long as you keep your carbs very low, high fat is perfectly fine.

What confuses me is, this TNT Diet calls for after 4 weeks of 7 days a week eating as if you were on the Mon-Fri anabolic diet, go for basically 1 day a week carb up day, and have carbs/protein 1 hr before and 1 hr after your workouts. so, i’d be carbing 3x a week for workouts, and 1 whole day a week. The rest would be say 20g or less a day of carbs.

My biggest question is, is it still healthy if my meals on a workout day are high fat, then all of a sudden i throw that big carb burst in there in the middle around my workout, then return right away to high fat? i’m not exactly seeing how that is considered healthy when it’s unhealthy to have a combo of high fat and high carb. Is that just within meals?

Thank you for anyone who can clarify.

Check out CT’s workout nutrition thread, that scenario is basically exactly what he recommends as the most anabolic environment. Also, mixing carbs and fat is fine.

I’ve been trying to find this thread. Link, anyone?
I’m on AD and thinking of putting carbs in peri-workout.

Jesus Christ. 45 page thread. I read the first 5 or 6 pages… my question is, right now on the AD I am training 5x/week and carbing on weekends - if I was having carbs peri-workout 5x/week and then carbing on weekends, wouldn’t that destroy the concept of being on the AD?

Yes. But you could still see good results, though you might not want to go crazy on the carb ups.
