High Fat, Mod Protien, Low Carb?

Anyone have success on such a diet? I am extremely carb sensative, just the thought of pancakes makes me gain weight. I have had success in the past on the atkins, but was surely not eating enough food and was not going to the gym at the time.

I am back to eating High fat, moderate protein, and low carb, and was curious if anyone else had success/suggestions about this?

The one thing I am curious about is pre/post workout nutrition. I work out first thing in the morning upon rising 5-6 days a week with lifting and cardio. Should I consume a post workout drink with carbs? Or will this cause issues since my fat intake is higher? Supplement suggestions? Creatine?

Any help, suggetions, much appreciated. Thanks

about 11 months ago I went on a diet to lose some fat it went something like this

breakfast
4 eggs
2 pieces bacon
beef or some kind
2 pieces cheese

lunch
2 burgers
2 pieces cheese
cup cottage cheese

snack
1-2chicken breasts

post workout
2 scoop whey

dinner
steak-ground beef-chicken
nuts

I didnt realy know how to eat back then however I was eating a decent amount of calories/protein for my size “small” I didnt know how to train either so my strength gains sucked

first week I lost 5 lbs next few weeks I lost 2-3lbs a week I was also walking quite a bit 1.5 miles 1-3 times a day usualy before I ate and after working out

I trained 3 times a week same workout every time with a day inbetween about 20 total sets of any where from 10-20 reps

also.

I would recomend carbs at breakfast or lunch I get better workouts if I eat no carbs at breakfast and alot at lunch because it gives me some more energy, I workout late in the day

and yeah have a good PWO shake dont have fat in the shake tho just carbs and protein. as far as how many carbs pwo I have no idea I usualy just throw in a couple cups of milk in my shake of or a banana

yeah, take creatine if you want

Check out the Anabolic Diet thread in the Supplements and Nutrition section…be prepared though its like the longest thread ever…

Well, my main concern is fat loss, but also workout energy. I have been on a low carb diet for a long time, probably 85% -90% of my life for the past few years was low carb… its just what I believed was best for me. The problem is my metabolism has gotten used to this way of eating.

So, now I am back on it, no cheating, hitting the gym 5 days a week, lifting and cardio. I still prefer the low carb lifestlye, but I am curious if my body will gain fat or benefit with a post workout drink with carbs? If it would be a help, whats the least amount of carbs pre/post workout that will help?

I want to lose weight, that is my main goal, while I tone up what I have, and eventually see whats under this fat.

Seconded.

The Low-Carb Roundtable should help you some, too.

That was my main goal too until I saw the muscle start to grow and kept reading some of the bigger guys here.

Check the AD thread all the answers are there.

Thanks for the suggestion, and to be honest, I have already been through a good portion of the thread, it just takes so much damn time to get through being 177 pages long!

I want to put on lean muscle mass, hell, if my weight stayed the same for a while, it wouldn’t bother me as long as I know the fat is being replaced with muscle.

But, is this diet really good for someone who has a good amount of fat to lose? Would you suggest less carbing up days for those in my shoes. I am not in need of cutting the last 10lbs off, need to take off a lot more than that. I am 5 11, 240 at the moment.
