Not a bad call. Try sticking with the Deep Water food list.
Deep Water Intermediate (kinda)
Week 2
Day 6
Well I didnāt really get to finish everything because I went to the gym at the last minute. It was starting to get late so I went home. Also had to be there in order to team up with my roommates to get this gas leak problem sorted out,
Deadlift
275 lbs x 10
275 lbs x 10
275 lbs x 10
Squat
275 lbs x 10
275 lbs x 10
275 lbs x 10
275 lbs x 10
275 lbs x 10
275 lbs x 10
275 lbs x 10
275 lbs x 9
275 lbs x 8
275 lbs x8
Thatās all I could get in, Unfortunately I didnāt get 10x10 but I got 10x10ish. Iām totally fine with that. Honestly Iām surprised that Iām even able to do this. Itās incredible to me. I made sure the majority of my reps were solid and deep enough, Iām proud of myself.
Itās crazy that when you restrict how many different types of food you eat, you can pinpoint exactly what is causing you issues. Gotta keep that food in you, man.
Awesome job on the squats dude. They are the worstā¦
Didnāt take long for my schedule to get wonky.
Gonna have to change deepwater schedule to thurs, fri, sat, sun.
Hello guys. Deepwater has been going great I will log my sessions over this weekend.
Like 5 seconds ago a tall fella walked over to me doing cleans. I was putting some weight away because I noticed Iām not able to get 10x10 with this weight(this was before he came over here) I did like 3x8 and 1x5 with 135. He started saying how u wanted to catch it in ur shoulders. Heās correct. I just listened to him and said itās hard to get a front rack position. He started showing me a wrist stretch.
How do u guys deal with random lifting advice from other people. Heās correct cause I just muscle through em the best I can.
I smile, nod, and then do what I was going to do anyway. I do the same with most unwanted advice.
Occasionally I skip out on the smile and nod part.
Not gonna lie. Iām surprised someone would give you lifting advice in the first place.
It doesnāt happen often these days, given I train in my garage. This was the strategy I used in college.
EDIT: I will say I still get a fair share of it on my youtube videos.
Probably best to just keep that mindset. Iām gonna stop thinking about the incident. I was a bit tempted to clown his squat worksets and compare them to mine. (Not to his face but on here) I shall not do that though. Itās weak of me to do that.
Lots of people are going to have lots of opinions about how you should live your life. Itās worth finding the people whose opinions you trust and giving their advice some consideration, and for the others not let it affect you.
If Jon Andersen says something is a good idea, Iāll almost always try it. Some rando at the gym? Nah.
Yessir definitely good to listen to people I trust. If u have any other program recommendations or any other advice I am all ears man. Idk when Iāll stop running deep water tho.
Idk about you Pwn but every time I hear the name anderson/andersen
This always comes to my mind.
Definitely make the most of your college time as far as this training opportunity goes. And I donāt mean forgo studies and socializing to train, but more appreciate the fact that you honestly donāt have much as far as obligations go at this point. You get older, married, have kids and suddenly time becomes precious and youāre like me getting up at 0300 to squeeze it all in, but right now you can do those 2-3 hour sessions and still have time for everything else. If you have a dinning hall, eat big. Eat WELL too. Learn good habits.
Deep Water will always hold a special place. I also appreciated 5/3/1 Building the Monolith and 5/3/1 BBB Beefcake.
I donāt have to deal with lifting advice from anyone in person, since Iāve only ever lifted at home and the only real communication in regards to lifting is through the forums. The advice from people in my log has been great in my opinion, so Iāll always listen to what anyone has to say. The giving of advice has kind of died down a bit lately since Iāve sort of settled into a routine with deepwater, though.
Iām the same with cleans. My form is horrible when I do them. I just rip the bar off the floor haha.

Rant:
If I could use instant transmission like Goku to get around places I would. I assure you, driving in the Baltimore area is not it. I just gotta deal with it. I canāt remember the last time I drove on an empty road. Well at least iām not driving in the actual city.
Edit: lmao I think Iām unintentionally cock-blocking one of my 3 roommates.
Depending on the circumstances, it becomes intentional the minute you become aware of it, haha.

This was awesome!!! Unfortunately I will have to adjust the weight. Umm this upcoming week is gonna be 80 percent for week 3. Iāll probably end up using the same weight on week 2 for week 3.
I was very very close to what I wanted for my sets but not quite. I have to master 275 lb squat 10x10 and 185 lb bench 3 x 10, etc. Oh but believe me I am totally gonna explode my legs and chest on week 5 and 6. I cannot wait for that. But, I gotta chill with the weight increases for now.
Bench 205 lbs
For 3 x 10
Squat 295 lbs
For 10x10
Deadlift 315 lbs
For 10x10
Press 125-135 lbs
For 10x10
I am going to hit these numbers on week 5 and 6 or get as close to them as possible. Doesnāt matter cause Iāll hit them eventually lol.
Remember, instead of the rest time changing on intermediate the number of sets change, itās a totally different ballgame.
