There’s a ton of different ways to approach it. Since you only have one gripper, I’d do 5x5. Once I can do that, I do 5x5 with a timed hold on the final rep of the final set. When I can hold that for 30 seconds, I start doing 5x5 with a timed 5 second hold on the final rep of all sets and aim for 30 seconds on the final rep on the final set. When I can do that, I aim for 5x5 with a 5 second hold on all reps of all sets, and if you can then get a 30 second hold on the final rep of the final set, your grip is definitely stronger and you can for sure move up a level.

Unfortunately I missed 2 reps on the last set. I’ll try and ignore that. Maybe I missed it cause the weight I used with dumbbell ohp yesterday was fairly heavy or it could’ve been the fact I super setted with pushups. Well I don’t know but, I do have to find a balance because I want all the reps.

Decided to chill out with light conditioning just to give my legs a rest. I plan on lifting on Tuesday. I’m probably gonna do a taboo this week and train 3 days in a row.

At least I can get in some work.

Yikes.

Today was just atrocious

Definitely an off day

Squat
245 x 5
280 x 5 (Felt strangely heavy)
315 x 1 Felt like a mack truck and it felt so heavy on my back. If I did any more I would’ve failed

:upside_down_face:

I’ll probably just throw in a press session on thursday then just redo the whole week next week if I can.

What’s funny is that I didn’t leave yet. My mom has some loose ends to tie up so we’ll be leaving next week. So I’ve been lifting pretty consistently. I’ll throw up the training sessions for yesterday and today probably later tonight.

I also ordered some deadlift shoes. They should be coming friday.

I feel like a failure. This is the second time squats felt abnormally heavy.

Warmup
265 x 5
300 x 3
Feels atrociously heavy and racks the weight

It’s like I got a big loss in squat strength. Idk what’s going on. Someone please help I need guidance on what to do.

@T3hPwnisher @dagill2 @garagerocker13 @flappinit @boilerman

When was your last deload/7 week protocol week? Has your bodyweight been going up, down, or staying the same?

I have not deloaded recently. Last time I did the 7th week protocol was a while ago. I was sick for about the first two weeks of june so I didn’t train for that time period then I started training again on June 12 or 13. After those two weeks is when my squat started to be poopoo.

I’ll check my weight tomorrow morning but last time I weighed myself I was 215 lbs which is what I normally weigh. I can’t quite remember when the last time I weighed myself but I’m pretty sure it was after those two weeks of being sick.

This was the last crappy squat session I had. That was 13 days ago.

You sound over fatigued. I would use a lower training max.

I reckon that will do it, yeah.

My 2c is to lower your TM to a point you’re sure is too easy and build up. The strength and confidence will come back really quick.

@dagill2

Well I guess 265 would make a good training max. Thanks for helping me out Pwnisher and dagill.

Does it make sense to switch to a different 5/3/1 template considering god is a beast is meant to be hard or can I stay on it?

There’s no wrong decision to make, so long as you learn from it.

Hey man, I agree with all of the above^^

Take it easy for a bit, it’ll all come back.

Hey boilerman is deep water done with lighter weight?

Yup, it is. The book says to run the Deepwater sets at around 70% of your 10 rep max. I opted to run them a little higher than the weights I calculated though. It took me a couple weeks to find my groove. Are you interested in running it?

Yep I am interested in running it

Gonna be putting away a LOT of chicken with the no beef protocol

Yeah man, I was going to say something along the lines of making sure your eating is 110% where you want it. I went in a little willy nilly the first week or so and started feeling the lack of food immediately.

If you’re confident in your ability to put the food away, I say go for it man.
