Kinda alarming hearing the gc I’m working for left a bad taste in his mouth on a gov’t job. A project got delayed for 7 months and the electrical contractor got buttfucked on General Conditions cost. They could not get approved Change Order/claim money for the unforeseen extended project length.

I’ve worked with a couple of old head guys like this. You’re never quite sure where you stand, but you get the idea that they like you. In my experience, if they didn’t like you, you’d know 100%.

My wife worked for a dude kinda like this. Really good guy, but old school Pittsburgh style guy. He used to give me a metric fuck ton of shit at company events. Just taking the piss out of me at every moment. I was trying to be “Southern Respectful” since he was my wife’s boss. One night we were at the bar getting drinks and he said “Your wife has really good taste, except in men”. I’d had enough and replied “Well, she likes you so what does that say” and left him at the bar. After that, all was good and we’ve been friends ever since.

I’m in Huntsville this week for work and Monday/Tuesday were absolutely brutal. Walking out of the hotel in the morning was like getting hit in the face with a wet washcloth that had been in the microwave for 5 minutes.
