Well I did my research and found 3 Masters programs I’m interested in. They’re all online and made for people that work full-time. Two of the programs are Masters of Science in Real Estate and the other one is an MBA Concentration: Real Estate Development.

I absolutely love how when I research real estate development careers on LinkedIn, the degree requirements state ā€œconstruction management, architecture, finance, blah blah blahā€.

Then there’s also the other cool non-constructiony (is that a word?) commercial real estate careers. The more doors that get opened, the better.

Cool! I’m gonna apply to all of them since Spring 2025 applications are open. The sooner I knockout the essays and letters of recommendation, the better.

Welp, I did it!!!

I graduated summa cum laude with my degree in construction management and minor in business administration yesterday.

I worked my tail off during college from the start of my freshman year. Throughout the years I experienced all of those lectures, presentations, interviews, and homework.

I’ve had the opportunity to be in a leadership position via a student organization for the first time ever in my life. I also earned my way to complete 6 internships and/or co-ops in the field I’m studying along the way. I’ve gained lifelong friends and built great relationships.

Since I was away from my parents and anyone from my home time, I learned a lot about myself. The best thing I’ve gained from my time at college was confidence. I became a more confident man who believes in himself and is more spontaneous. I KNOW what kind of man I want to be and will continue to take action to do so.

Congrats to me!!! The sky is the limit!!! Let’s keep the train moving!!!

I also ate a 22 oz bone-in ribeye, shrimp, lobster mac and cheese, and some cheesecake at some fancy restaurant yesterday lol.

7! That’s awesome, way to take advantage of the access. How many were required by school.

Which job/path did you decide to start up in August?

I only needed to do one summer internship to graduate.

I will be working at a large general contractor starting out as a Junior Estimator. Most general contractors tend to pigeon people into specific market sectors: data centers, Multifamily, sports/entertainment, industrial. But, there is no pigeon holing here so there’s opportunity to see different kinds of projects.

Once once year of estimating is completed, I’ll be an on-site Project Engineer. This company has a culture of supporting individual goals, so they let you bounce around to gain new skills or whatever.

I intend of giving myself the necessary skills to be well rounded in order to have a long lasting career.
