Trying to get responses was pretty brutal on my end, too. It took ~10 applications for a student job and ~30-40 for a summer internship, but if you keep at it something will turn up sooner or later. Good luck

I had my interview today with the co-owner of the company. He wants to continue the interviewing process.

BUT, this interview was hella unprofessional, this guy was an ass. The types of people that are sooooooo in love with themselves, are so easy to read.

So no, I will not be contacting you with the number you gave me to continue the conversation.

Thankfully, I have a scheduled interview next Tuesday with the general contractor I applied to. I was just about to throw in the towel and boom! Microsoft Teams meeting invitation.

The company I spoke with today is a roofing subcontractor.

@BrickHead I change my mind, I will be actively searching for a wife. I also think the kind of wife I want is a dying breed, meaning low percentage of them. I could be wrong, could be right idk, according to Google my generation is the least religious one.

Also, I don’t have a hyooge circle of friends where you could constantly meet new people mutually, just several close friends and a bunch of acquaintances.

Just wanted to say that as a follow-up. I know exactly what kind of action to take moving forward. It’s not that I’m doing absolutely nothing in order to find or prepare myself for a potential wife, I’m just not doing enough.

Updates

  • Second interview is tomorrow at 2 pm, I am excited and prepared.

  • Scaled back a bit on training this week, so I can give my brain a break and also go full throttle on interview practicing. I actually broke a 3 week weight loss stall this week which is cool. It’s crazy how I lost nothing on 2600 calories for 3 weeks, but it’s also weird how I’m acting like I haven’t experienced stalls before. I simply had to eat less.

  • Last night I decided that I wanted to get into wood whittling. I ordered some basswood for pickup at Michael’s and I bought some cut-resistant gloves at Walmart. For some reason, it seems to be impossible trying to find a proper knife.

  • I didn’t find a knife at Walmart, but I bought TWO KETTLEBELLS BABY!!! HAHA!! My life is going to get slightly easier, I shall build some of the finest armor in a complex way.

  • My summer internship ended and I am very relieved. I’m not sure how to feel about the outcome, all I know is that I’m not an idiot for saying I wanted to work at the NJ office considering the long term benefits of not paying rent. I could’ve had certainty of having a job in MD, but I had to go for NJ.

The only downside is the anticipation, both VP dudes reached out to that office (they’re keeping me updated too), but we have to wait and see if there is a need for new hires at that office because they’re in the middle of figuring that out.

Although huge and national, the company is decentralized and is made up of individual project teams that find their own work, so like a company of companies. It also means if I were to come full time it’d be hella difficult to switch offices/teams in the future, so might as well shoot for the NJ office.

NJ is such a desert for vertical construction, plenty of horizontal construction jobs, but I don’t wanna manage bridges, roads, or rails.If there is a spot open I would have to interview with a VP, which is no problem.

I believe I did a good job of selling my self yesterday. I’m also glad I mentioned Dale Carnegie’s book during the interview because Executive VP Dude read it as well.

Now I have to play the waiting game again which I hate lol, fingers crossed I get an offer.

This is the last straw, I got sick again and although I am on a deficit, I kind of blame my lack of veggies and fruits. Because what if I incorporated more? Probably less of a chance of getting sick.

As much as I may wish for genocide in my crowded Petri dish of a commercial gym, that’s not happening (I’m joking here).

On a more positive note, steel subcontractor I worked for this past spring contacted me yesterday offering me a job to start during the school year. So whether I get the job with the general contractor I spoke to this Monday doesn’t matter, awesome.

The carnivore in me says the opposite. But you could be nutrient deficient for sure. Or, perhaps, your immune system is compromised due to a lack of recovery. Inadequate sleep and great stress can do that.
