Titan Tim Tackling his Twenties

Two construction management internships so far during the summer

Have another starting from Jan 23 - mid May, and then another one for the summer.

I have never worked a regular job in my life

Oh cool. I’d suggest doing some actual construction work. Even if just as day labor. See what the concerns and incentives and shortcuts of the lowest on the food chain are.

Have you been on the procurement side at all? That seems like another useful area to learn about.

The above notwithstanding my earlier suggestion about breadth outside of your industry.

Technically I will be on Jan 23.

I absolutely tried looking for labor jobs. My schedule is stupid specific, ah well doesn’t hurt to try, not like I did EVERYTHING in my power to achieve that.

Once I do everything then Iā€˜ll give up

Depending on where you live, day labor site may be an option?

Definitely this!

Where I live, people will take just about anybody, whenever they can. You may not be able to truly ā€œdo the workā€ but having an extra set of hands is never a bad thing.

Also, maybe try to get into a part time maintenance position at one of the buildings similar to the ones you’ll be working on in the future. It’ll be eye-opening to see what corners are cut and where the money goes when it is being built. You’ll also be able to have hands on experience in every aspect, as opposed to just one discipline.

It’s quite fascinating how different WNBF athletes look compared to IFBB Pro athletes.

I’ll keep looking although this search is starting to become a ā€œ I need the experience to get the experienceā€ kind of thing

I see what you’re saying. What kind of companies are you calling? I’d assume basically any and all union jobs are a no-go, as are a lot of larger established companies. If you call a few smaller shops and explain your situation they may be a bit more forgiving, and potentially just be looking for another body and able hands.

In my experience, and I hate to say this, but the most labor intensive jobs are typically the ones that are the most forgiving when it comes to hiring. Think roofing, framing, drywall, painting etc. Electricians and plumbers as well, in this area at least. A heartbeat and a pair of hands will land you a gig.

Since you like chill, I thought I’d mention this.

Mixing in 4oz of spicy Italian sausage into 1lb of ground beef really enhances the flavour

I tried it yesterday when making chill for my little bro and he legit ate half the pot

Also, if you ever have time, making tomato sauce yourself makes a huge difference

I’ve been stuck at 206 lbs for almost three weeks. I lowered calories to the 2400 range and after a week that did nothing. I’m starting to think the treadmill walks are just becoming less effective.

I am going to go back to the running and walking cycles I did from keys to progress and see if I lose something. If not, I’ll simply lower the calories more, the following week.

How long have you been cutting?

About 6 weeks, still in the early stages.

Ok. I thought you might’ve been cutting for a long time.

@jdm135 @boilerman

Lowes offers online trade education and pre apprenticeship programs for carpentry, electrical, and plumbing if you work 90 days for them part time or full time.

Let’s do it! I’ll probably have to apply again tho, the interview time slots are before I go back to school and everything is managed by a bot.

This is worth a read

You are most likely becoming too GOOD at treadmill walking.

An easy way to become not good at it is via ā€œheavy handsā€.

What I could do is cycle three ways of conditioning like I do with my main lifts

  • Running - 2 weeks
  • Heavy Hands - 2 weeks
  • Idk some emom tabata thingy - 2 weeks

Don’t be afraid of controlled chaos as well. You have 3 methods there: fantastic. You can take a 6 sided die and roll it to decide what your fate will be that day.

Similarly. Im going to do mile runs in January, then in Feb probably switch to an EMOM complex. Once you acclimate it becomes less effective- unless your goal is chasing numbers, which in cardio i definitely do NOT want to do.
