Tis the Season: 19k Shopping Spree Style

…and Merry Christmas to you Andre Johnson…

I am officially a huge a Andre Johnson fan. I love reading about these kinds of things from athletes. There’s too much shit in the news about them getting DUIs or having eight kids with eight different women, none of whom they pays appropriate child support to, or shooting their girlfriend and/or themselves or whatever. I wish more of this kind of stuff were bigger news than it is.

It is too bad that this post will probably not receive the recognition it deserves. It’s not controversial enough. I applaud him for his generosity.

Agreed. Guys like this have come and gone for years through the NFL and they never hear anything about it from the media.

DB you can like guys that are not 49rs? Im impressed.

A buddy of mine used to be the GM of an upscale lounge here in Houston that Johnson frequented, and apparently this isn’t just some nice guy act. Said Johnson tipped well, was polite and never pulled the pro athlete card. It’s cool to see and hear shit like this.

^^from what I’ve heard/read he is a really nice guy.

Saws this yesterday and was impressed. What a nice guy. Hopefully as a reward for his nice deed Schaub throws him the ball a bunch and he can rack up 130+ yards and 2 TD’s this weekend to help out my fantasy team

Definitely this. There’s a lot more charitable things and benefits going on with NFL players than many realize, and probably less than 1% is ever acknowledged by anyone outside of that particular city, or by the media, etc. Guys like Warrick Dunn and Johnson are well known for it, but there’s others who do it quietly without any attention. (Not saying Johnson is doing this for the recognition, though, haha.)

Makes it that much more funny when you think about how badly Cortland Finnegan must have pushed Johnson’s buttons a few years ago when they got into that altercation!

I think the NFL PR is trying to push more of this with the NFL 60 commercials and other things. But human nature is just going to be “we like to watch a train wreck”.
