there was a thread on the site awhile back of a poster who took 2 spare tires and fixed them so they would fit onto an olympic barbell, im looking to do something similar except with larger tires, does anyone have a link to the thread im talking about or know how i could go about doing this?
There’s a couple ways to do this. The easiest is if you can find a wheel that has a center hole close to 2 inches. That way it already fits close enough to slide right on to a barbell.
Otherwise you will have to attach a plate to the rim of the tire either by welding the plate to the rim or dilling holes through a plate and bolting the plate to the rim.

I remember reading how matt kroc setup his stuff, but it was awhile ago when I read that. And I could of swore a poster on here did the exact thing I’m talking about, oh well. thanks for your help. ill try google…again.

So what is your reasoning for doing this? Is it like the article…you want bumper plates but can’t afford them? Or do you have something else in mind?[/quote]
i train at home and have limited equipment. i was using cinder blocks to put my bar on to do rack pulls, but over time the cinder blocks have been falling apart and became a mess more then anything else. and this will probably help me deadlift more.
