Betty, I’d love to be virtual jogging buddies with you! Let’s do it, despite the fact you are ahead of me.
I just ordered some Pro Enz that veggie recommended. Its not here yet, but I’ll report back after a few weeks of taking it.

Nope, not ahead of you…I’m starting over and this will be my first week.

Congrats on that awesome Military PR. Wowza
As for running, I have no advice, but you got my love. I hate a discouraged Kimba ;(
Sorry to hear about your computer troubles. I can sympathize, though I’m the computer geek in this case. I’m on the books as a chemist, but I’m the only one at my office that knows much about fixing computers so I get that job too. Yay!
It is great though that you could salvage the data. Swaping out the hard drive for a new one and transferring the data over should be pretty easy. Fingers crossed!
You have my sympathy on the computer. I had to have Windows reinstalled before Christmas because it was refusing to load any programs, but fortunatley I’d backed up my necessary data on an external hard drive. Definitely recommend you do the same, next time. They’re not that expensive.
Not sure why your ART told you to stop foam rolling. Mine encourages me to roll as much as possible. I’d keep at it, to be honest.
I don’t know your details but a new CPU shouldn’t mean new software unless you were running a really old machine. I’m no geek squat guy but I’ve replaced CPU’s before.
Betty, we are on! Perhaps I’ll get my first C25K run in today, or depending on my work chaos it might not be until the weekend.
Nikki, having your love brightens my day. Thanks darlin’!
LastStand, I am also the IT person around here which has its limits to my geek abilities. We are definitely ahead of the game, you and I, having some skills in this area even though its not our careers.
Cal, I absolutely suck at backing up and this really just bit me in the ass. You are right: I need to buy an external hard drive and back it up often. As for the foam rolling, I’m going tomorrow and will ask my ART lady about this again.
Joe, in fact I am running an ancient XP system with software that is even older than that computer. I doubt that any of it will run in Windows 7 and that would mean a huge outlay of funds and a huge waste of time learning new software when the old software works just fine. The whole “planned obsolescence” aspect of the computer industry is so frustrating.
A combination of work and rain has forced me to deload and rest. My knee feels better today because of it. So the good news is that a week of no running brings me back to normal. Allowing me to start over again, going slower this time in hopes I avoid aggravating things again.
Yesterday’s training was:
5 terrible form wall squats trying to be like veggie and failing miserably
8 chinups, strict form
5 terrible form wall squats
25 pushups, good form
6 chinups
6 chinups
Just to get the blood flowing after a day at my desk.

I bet if you need to you can buy a not cutting edge CPU that will be okay for XP, on the cheap too.
nice push ups!!
Are you just doing the running program by workout or are you going to try and do it 3x/wk?
I’m going to try my best and do 3x/week! But I’d also like to do some hill sprints…hmmm
wow, lot’s of catching up to do in here, sounds like PR after PR, and I love the Plank “Win” !
at the Women’s PL Seminar…some talk about knee cave and I thought of you…
they almost guaranteed it would be one of two issues:
Quad dominant - a lot of work on strenghtening glutes/hips
or
Inflexible -
I also agree with the statement that foam rolling will help, if the IT Bands are tight, that would also cause some inflexibility in that area.
Let the chinup contest begin. I’m shooting for 15+ by year’s end. What’s your goal, my dear?
Joe, my geek came by yesterday and took away the CPU and bum hard drive. With any luck, he will return my CPU with a new hard drive with all my programs and files on it and I won’t know the difference.
Betty, I’d love to do the C25K three times per week. We’ll see if my knee can stand it. If not, then I’ll do 2x week and just stretch the program out longer until I complete every workout.
lil power, thanks so much for transmitting this knee cave advice. I agree completely. I don’t think its a flexibility issue, but a weak glute/hip issue. My quads are pretty darn strong after 20 years of bicycling and I’ll bet that is the imbalance here.
Snapper, my chinup goal is to do one more than you can do. I’m a bitch like that, but you love it.
Today I have just sat on my ass and rested and tried to make money for the company. Hate it, but the rain has made it easier to sit here and do my work.
I think I’ll do it 2x a week to start…I really want a ‘sprint day.’ Or maybe 1x week + a sprint day…
I too, have to see how the knees hold up…I’m in a whole new territory. It was painful to even jog a few steps just a couple years ago.
read your frozen water bottle suggestion for icing feet on another thread. brilliant! why didn’t i think of that? running off to put 2 water bottles in the freezer RIGHT NOW!!

Keep at those wall squats. Who knows, the increased mobility and enhanced activation that they can provide might even help your knee cave issue.
Good luck with the Pro-Enz. Take it with a high ORAC whole food supplement if you can.
And good for you for choosing the bike ride on Sunday. Sorry to hear that its been rainy since
Same here. April showers?!
Ha! I love you more and more each post, too funny.
Glad to hear the forced deload is helping your knee. The body can be cruel in that regards; saying “Yeah yeah, we’re fine. Keep going” then BAM! There goes the pain.
Take it as a second chance and start over easy… like you said <3
Betty, it sounds like we are starting this from much the same place. Gingerly. ![]()
alexus, I hope that the frozen water bottle idea helps you.
veggie, wall squats hurt me enough to guarantee that they are very, very good for me. Knee cave begone!
Nikki, its a cruel, cruel body sometimes. Thanks for the sympathy, you hottie, you.
Today was easy volume day. Squats up to 90 lbs, sets of 10. Some bench pressing, lat pull downs and dips. I lost the plank challenge today…sonofabitch. 3:35 min wasn’t enough to beat the trainer today. Oh, the entertainment of the challenge. I"ll get him next time.
Also had some ART today. My knee is tired out, and I hope its all good tomorrow AM.
My geek returned my computer completely fixed. YAY! I promised him from now on to be a better backer-upper.
Working like a dog. tired.
oh dear god. i wonder if there is a guiness record for planks or something. look out - kimba is coming! haha about one more than snap. i kinda want to play that game… but i’m starting from a long way behind so will have to wait and see… glad your computer issue is sorted out.
The one more than Snap comment was my favorite for the day, easily. ![]()
Yeah. Those kind of comments motivate me in a very immature way, I gotta admit. I just hate losing. Anything.
