One of the misses at 102.5.
Squats at 132.5
High pulls at 105. Damn. Wrong file. It might be good for a laugh.
Here they are at human speed.

Thank you. Yeah its hard work right now. Fortunately it only lasts a week and then I can back off.
11/18
Cleans: 62.5/2, 75/2, 87.5/2, 100/2, 106/2, 112.5/2, 120/2
Jerks: 62.5/2, 75/2, 87.5/2, 100/2, 106/2, 112.5/2, 120/2
Front squats: 95/3, 110/3, 122.5/3, 125/3, 127.5/3
Presses: 56/3, 64/3, 72/3, 74/3, 76/2
Clean dead lifts: (130/5)3
Bent rows: (85/4)3
Time: 77 min.
Very tiring workout today. The cleans felt pretty easy as did the jerks. Much better than yesterday.
The 120kg cleans.
The 120kg jerks.
Those cleans are one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. Wish I did the O-lifts instead of boring powerlifting.
By the way, any advice for someone that is nowhere near the flexibility to properly rack a clean? Any books that have the necessary stretches? I think I have the wrist flexibility but maybe I don’t have the shoulder flexibility or something.
Anyways, I really enjoy your thread and all the best on your goals.
Matt

Snatch: 52.5/2, 63/2, 74/2, 85/2, 92.5/2, 97.5/2, 102.5/2
Squats: 100/3, 115/3, 127.5/3, 132.5/3, 137.5/3
Bench: 70/3, 80/3, 90/3, 95/3, 97.5/3
Snatch Dead Lift: (110/5)3
Pullups: BW/8, (BW+5)/4, (BW+10)/2
Time: 56 min.
The 97.5 snatches were very sloppy. Had a little talk with myself and came back better focused on the 102.5s. The first one was the best snatch I’ve done this cycle, second not too bad, a bit out front, but easily saveable.

Thank you mrodock. It is good to have my hard work appreciated. However, I have to disagree on the part about powerlifting being boring. Maybe it is in comparison to O-lifting which is of course the most exciting thing you can do with out a woman or a throwing implement.
But especially now that I’ve been reading about the powerlifting meets some of the other guys here have been doing, in my book powerlifting at least comes in a close second. Before the end of next year, I’ll probably do one myself. How else are the good lifters going to know how good they are, if they don’t have any mediocre lifters like myself around to beat?
As far as the clean rack goes, if your problem really is shoulder flexibility, I can’t help you. I don’t know of any stretches or any book for a reference. (If anyone reading this knows, please feel free to chime in.)
But there is an easy test to do to see if your shoulders are the problem. Can you lift the bar out of a rack in front without using your hands? Just push your shoulders as far forward as you can, lift your elbows high (upper arms parallel to the ground), step up to the bar and place it as close to your neck as your can, then lift it. There should be a groove between your deltoids and traps where the bar rests.
if you can get that groove far enough forward so that you don’t choke to death, your shoulder flexibility is ok.
The 102.5 snatches.
The 137.5 squats.
Oh, oh. At least with a broom stick the test didn’t work. Here is the stupid question of the day. Do you have to unload the bar, rerack, and load it again between every set of squats?

That has to be one of the prettiest lifts I have seen.

No, I only dump them like that on the last set.

Thanks. I’m kinda in love with it myself.
