Thoughts About Quitting Lifting

Although i’d realised not everyone on here has even an above average physique, i did think untill now that people on this website were atleast commited to a training goal-this is not meant to be myspace.

We’ve been saying that though only to have people act like it isn’t true.

What the fuck are people doing on this site if they don’t even workout regularly?

Isn’t it odd that this site seems to attract a shit load of people like that?

SAMA, GAL, and Politics forum are great illustrations.

There are some folks who post regularly in there who contribute regularly in the useful forums (eg. BB, Strength, Supp/Nut, O-35, etc), but largely it’s inhabited by bandwidth wasters, no-trainers, and hangers-on.

More folks should get ‘called out’ (and culled out).

Sure those are rhetorical but…

I guess people join as there is obviously lots of good information…but then when they fail mostly due to wanting to get big at the same time as cutting they hang around leaving worthless posts.

I would also add that this website is no longer a bodybuilding website in my opinion…and as the demographic changes to people not focusing on such goals i guess editors are slowly forced to change there articles to please?

I am just thinking out loud though. Interested to here your opinions on why this website attracts people that dont work out regularly though X, as you have been a member far longer?

People are pussies. End of story. They listen to little personal trainers tell them that their primary focus should be on how low than can get their body fat levels. When they find they can’t gain muscle well like that, they quit.

A smart person planning to work hard at this would question why the people telling them that are consistently much smaller than the guys who don’t…and then they would listen to the people who are really strong and really big.

As far as those with the goal of “toning and shaping”, if this site is claiming “a relentless pursuit of muscle” they need to quit coddling these people and stand up for a set of values that are clearly announced.

I agree with what you are saying in the first two paragraphs. But, about the site setting clear goals, at the end of the day this site is a business trying to promote Biotest, so it is in there interest to have as many people as possible to increase sales…so they dont want to tell people to piss off.

HA! now i feel stupid…but it still applies to the “toning and shaping” members of this site.

the forums may be about bodybuilding/strength training . the articles are about body building/strength training .

but the “site” is a marketing tool . and you cant market your product if you chase away those who may be considered to strive for less than stellar rewards .

YES!

Serious question…how many supplements do you think are really being sold to people like the guy I responded to?

I can understand the business aspect completely. What I don’t get is the LACK of approaching this from a truly all out “get big as fuck” point of view. CT is about the best we can do apparently…which ain’t that bad, but I doubt even CT is where he wants to be as an end result or considers himself the epitome of development.

As long as there are interesting forums to post on. There will be every type of individual on this site. If the site was restricted to workout forums only. I think there would be nothing to attract non lifters. Unfortunately that would make the site extremely boring. Informative but boring.

Personally if I don’t like an individuals conduct and additude I just plain ignore them. They can post on my threads all day long. I really couldn’t care less.

I think it comes with age. Ten years ago they would have driven me off this site. Now they’re just flies buzzing around looking to get some attention. Like a fly they are extremely difficult to annihilate. Unlike a fly they live far to long

Please quit lifting. People like you take up unneeded space at the dumbbell rack.

I “almost” quit lifting 6 months ago.
At one point not only I stopped improving but I also lost some strenght on my favorite lifts.
I’m 100% sure I ate enough food including proteins shakes + I had all the sleep and rest I needed.
I admit I was not training properly since I went mostly for “mirror muscles”
Anyways I decided to stay on this forum because I like the people, and I love. the “get a life” forum.
I still train every now and then at home but not as consistently as before.

If you were eating enough food, you would have been gaining weight.

Why are people this unmotivated attracted to this website?

TC, don’t you think that’s something to consider and possibly do something about?

[/quote]

The Thought-Police live!!! OMG!!

The OP is a pussy, flat out.

You basically said that since you don’t like lifting, anyone who does must have something wrong with them. So somehow, you’re brave for stopping.

(And no, I’m not reading it again. Reading it once was enough of a waste of my fucking time.)

Many homosexuals feel that way. They think that everyone really, deeply, truly wants to suck a dick but they are the only ones brave enough to actually suck it.

Grats on behaving like a delusional homo.

You really want to have the best of all worlds. Misunderstand my post, try to shame me about allegedly being interested in the sex you’re a member of and simultaneously using a word reserved for female genitalia to ridicule me.

well , seeing as how supplements are viewed as a shortcut by just about everybody who doesnt get the whole picture , I would guess that the answer would be “LOTS” …they’re just not buying Biotest products . I cant back that up with any proof ; just call it a hunch .

hell , on two different occasions people have asked me about protein powder ; I’m not big , but I’m bigger than I used to be , so they figured that I know my supplements…haha . neither one had any plans on commencing a “workout” program ; but they read somewhere that to lose weight one must drink protein smoothies . so off to walmart for a bottle of Hydroxycut and who knows what else . thats good marketing ! followed up by poor research and laziness .

Also, if someone truly needs to post a thread on an internet website in order to try and pity his way into motivation… he is simply not cut out for bodybuilding.

but yeah , I totally get what you all are saying .

I post on 2 sites;here and a fishing site . both are interests that I attempt to succeed at . I dont log on to LakeLink and babble about how hard fishing can be , and ask advice about advanced techniques , and then spurn the advice and return to outdated/ineffective techniques of the past …always wondering what the secret to success is .

and if I quit fishing , I certainly wouldnt continue to post on the forums of that site .
