I post because I hate threads like this. The kind of whiny dude that posts “I’m gonna quit unless you talk me off the ledge” crap is the kind of guy that doesn’t belong in the gym in the first place.
He’ll eventually quit regardless of how many shoulders he cries on, so why drag this thing out and pretend like it matters?
Lift weights, don’t lift weights, whatever, but don’t expect the internet to be your emotional tampon if you wake up one morning and have an estro-crisis.
On another, more relevant note, I have a microfiber blanket. It’s pretty warm.
OP, if you really don’t like lifting, then just stop. Your loss.
I don’t get why you started this thread though. Are you actually looking for motivation? For someone to convince you to continue? Or are you just whining about why you don’t like lifting anymore?

I don’t think you understand how this post count thing works…
Oh, he posted because he thought that by making an issue of him not lifting, he could expose “philosophically” how the rest of us are just wasting our time.
That way, when he quits, he can claim it was due to some need to fulfill his destiny without the confines of such a vane construct as making it to the gym several times a week and eating to make progress.
What people like that fail to realize that quite a few of us don’t lessen our other passions, we work on them all because they are all important.
Of course, someone like that will rebel at the thought.

That’s what WE’VE been asking.
My original post wasn’t even directed towards you.
What, exactly, did I “feel the need to tell everyone”?
The “Brightest Bulb in The Box” award goes to…
Alright, my mistake.
Anyway, the point I was trying to make in the first place is he is just posting an off-topic subject in an off-topic fourm. Was it a magnificent post? No. Was in extremely intersting? No. It’s purely subjective whether you “care” or not, so if you don’t, someone else might.
I mean, what are the critera for something being “postworthy” or not?

I’m grilling steaks as I type.
Yum.
You forgot to start a thread first asking (1) how to grill the steaks, (2) whether you should’ve made something else instead, and, most importantly, (3) explaining how you feel about the whole process.

And for the record, if you’re doing this because you are worried about the nagging injuries that come from lifting, you should probably also realize that in the long term, hyperflexibility isn’t real good for the joints in the long term.
I think the whole “injuries” is just some kind of fabricated justification to make himself feel better.

Lol either way it’s a bit pointless making a thread about it. He either quits or not. No-one particularly cares, but he doesn’t have to ‘philosophically’ try and drag us down as well.

Ooooooooh, good questions.
buy a grill.
Make it a good metal charcoal grill. They will probably run you about 60 bucks.
-then buy some steaks.
Make sure they are made of MEAT. I then season said meat and place them on the grill after the charcoal has been burning for about 20-30min.
I most certainly should NOT have made something else. I’m a big dude. I need a lot of calories and those steaks seem to fill the need better than anything else I’ve tried (which is probably everything at least once)
3)…I feel full. I also feel stronger and I now think beef is the key to maintaining that size and building more if your goal happens to be “more muscle than an Abercrombie model”.

I think some guys just eat steak because of the whole eat beef campaign. It is everywhere, in the movies, magazines, on TV. Society is imposing this idea on us that to be men we must eat steak. You know when you analylize the benefits of eating meat vs the drawbacks, it just doesn’t make sense to eat it.
And it is terrible for the environment. You do understand that cow farts are actually ruining the atmosphere.
When you think about it, and I mean really think about it. Eating tofu makes a whole lot more sense.
Am I looking for motivation? Probably. I think I likely won’t even quit, but given my persistence so far, taking a week off feels like quitting. Does not anybody else here ever have similar thoughts? Don’t you think it’s natural to talk about that?
I do like it in a sense but at the same time I feel like I’m violating and hurting myself doing something unnatural. I get that feeling sometimes.
Seriously,do you think a lot of people do lifting because they really think it’s that much fun? That’s what actual sports like soccer or floorball are for,in my opinion. Which people grow up playing. Sure professionals bust themselves up for the profit but recreational players are enjoying the game itself.
I don’t really feel like responding invidually to everyone now so I’ll just say some responses were pretty astute and many were not.

I would like a grade on my post please. And remember to grade it on a bell curve.
