Thoughts About Quitting Lifting

Yes, but more flexible. Perhaps self fellatio is his real unspoken goal.

People are really convincing themselves that they should avoid making progress so they can remain “flexible”?

If you want to quit, QUIT. I need more space in the gym anyway.

How is this “philosophical”? Lifting weights is going to be of different value and worth to everyone. My “philosophy” for life includes not becoming stagnant whether that be mentally or physically.

agreed… why tell us…

Are you actually just looking for some motivation?I’m just being philosophical. Maybe arousing some discussion about the merits of this.

Yea, but you’re missing that, “No one gives a fuck” part.

There is no discussion on the merits here. If we didn’t think it was great, we wouldn’t do it.

Christ. nancy.

You beat me to it.

Who gives a fuck?

Agreed.

I’m giving up Tequila.

I had six chicken tacos and two pieces of cake for dinner last night.

I just drank a Barq’s Rootbeer…and trouble is brewing.

Quitter.

Even MacGyver thinks you’re a pussy.

There’s nothing wrong with trying something and finding that its not for you. I’d encourage you to keep searching.

I find that lifting heavy gives me a lot of injuries too, part of which is due to age (54). So I do a lot of cardio and mix in sets in the 10 to 18 range, just for laughs. I also do a lot of burpees when not in the mood to lift.

Just keep searching.

Good luck!

If you guys don’t care about what he has to say, why bother to post in the thread? No one forced you to read it.

To the OP: If you don’t enjoy lifting weights, don’t do it. Find another healthy activity that you take interest it.

I don’t think you understand how this post count thing works…

If this is a discussion forum open to the entire world population, why do you think people logged in to not respond to topics?

I know it’s mine.

I can’t wait.
I tried for awhile until I finally realized that it was a counter productive goal. Because I would spend so much time doing it I wouldn’t have time to lift. I already spend to much time jerking off as it is. As a result I have a big muscle imbalance between my right and left forearms.

I tried switching off arms thinking it would be like getting some strange. But I didn’t have the necessary coordination.

Does anybody have any training tips for this. Then perhaps we would have a useful purpose for this thread.

He posted his thoughts for us to read and reply to if we wish.

Seems you decided to do the same.

Pot = Kettle.

Second, you sound like the kind of guy who thinks some olympic winning marathon runner is pathetic for not being muscular and strong.
Are you trying to compare your flexibility needs to an Olympic marathon runner.

I fail to see how what I said has anything to do with other athletes.

You are the one quitting. You are the one that posted this thread. Plus your reasons for quitting are your own whether they are pathetic or not.

Plus I think anyone that quits something that is good for their health and well being for some pathetic reason is a loser.

No. I wasn’t saying “who cares?” and telling the OP that his pointless was stupid because it wasn’t a topic I was interested in (yet still felt the need to respond to).

Well, we don’t care about that either.

I don’t think that.

I’m not sure if that was a joke or not, if it was, it was pretty funny.

But if you truly don’t care, why do you feel the need to tell everyone?

It’s just stupid for someone to tell someone that their post is meaningless in an OFF-TOPIC FOURM.
Corrosion wrote:

That’s what WE’VE been asking.

I just find it weird that you would give up something that you have seen results from, for something you were admittedly mediocre at that doesn’t really show similar benefits.

You also say it’s more painful and more time
consuming, but you don’t really talk about how much you enjoy it. Really what it comes down to, is do you enjoy contorting more than you enjoy the benefits you get out of lifting?

And for the record, if you’re doing this because you are worried about the nagging injuries that come from lifting, you should probably also realize that in the long term, hyperflexibility isn’t real good for the joints in the long term.

My original post wasn’t even directed towards you.

What, exactly, did I “feel the need to tell everyone”?
