Time to go back to what I really enjoy and that is to just lift heavy shit.
And I decided to give the Pres elect one more week to cough up the invite. [/quote]
He hasn’t invited me either. Wonder if its a sign? On the political high note I did get invited to the local sanitation directors inauguration…Think THAT is a sign?
I’m looking forward to seeing your new routine.

good one…
NOW GO LIFT SOME HEAVY SHIT!!
Just remember, any more than 2 reps and you’re bodybuilding again…
OL
hel,
your humor cracks me up!
Sounds like you’re going through a midlife lifting crisis…not quite happy with what you’re doing, but not quite sure what or how to change??? Go back to your favorites for awhile until you are focused on what you want and how to best go about acheiving it. You know the answers!
Art
Oh, that hurt Skid, but it was good.
Art, that’s the best advice I’ve heard in a long time. Deadlifts tomorrow.
Good zing in the 6 mental strength tip thread, Hel. On me and the OP ![]()
Didn’t want to post this there and feed the thread any more.
Yep, deadlifts tomorrow.
Early this morning
Deadlifts
135wu,225x8,315x8,405x3x3
Pullups

3x3 + 25 (trying to get over my 6 rep hump)
8x3 Assisted
Bent Rows

Thanks for standing up for us old folks, big fella.
In reference to that same thing, I sure hope I never do anything stupid enough to get you pissed off at me.
In reference to my outburst. I read everybody’s posts on here as often as I can. There’s some good stuff going on here and it just hit me this guy, for whatever reason, decided he’d let us all know he could show us the errors of our way.
Just struck me as patronizing and I’m too damn old for that. I’m pretty sure he hadn’t/hasn’t read any of the threads. If he has read some then he’s more of an idiot. So far we’ve managed to avoid a lot of the bs in the other forums and I would lie to keep it that way. Back to important stuff.
Deadlifting. Back in the day it was my best lift. Kind of been giving my back second hand attention since I wasn’t real sure how much it helped my throwing. Art, Barry, HT, Eco, are pulling some great numbers and Mday,Skid,Dz, and all the rest who do them are steadily increasing theirs.
Best I’ve pulled at this advanced age is 505 a little over a year ago. Going to see how much I can can get back. Using Mr Willy’s scale I got the ugly down now I need to get the strong back. (yeah, that was an intentional play on words)
I don’t see how that can have anything but a positive effect on your throws, especially hammer and weight.
besides, if you don’t deadlift, you might be gay…
Get to about my third stop, get out of the truck, started up a steep incline to the house, wet leaves. Oops, down on one knee. Finished the route. No swelling but the squats are out for a couple of days.
Friday night
Cleans
135wu,185x5,205x5x5
Mil Pres
135wu,175x5x5
Face pulls
80wu,130x8x5
Rear lat raises (machine)
120x5x8
This morning
Bench
135,185wu, 275x5x5
Inclines
135wu,225x5x5
CGB (for chest)
135wu,225x5x5
CGB (for Tri)
135wu,225x5x5
Hope the picture isn’t too ugly. Guess I can consider this my leg shot.
Not to ugly, just pretty gnarly.
Wish you well in recovering.

Not to be picky - but re: our conversation on my thread - I’m guessing that the CGB (for chest) was actually Wide Grip, yes?
Sorry to hear about the slip - here’s to a quick recovery.
