robmob, don’t get to deadlift as much as I like with the throwing season coming up. I thought about working on it and entering some push/pull meets this year but with everything else going on I’ve had to put those off. Keeping working at it and your gains will come.

Strange weather. Beautiful day again. Went to throw but the shot put area was literally underwater so I practiced the discus. Threw one about 300’. Hit the field at about 150’ and hydroplaned the rest.

You do some hard core stuff Hel! I’m only hoping to overcome 25 years of sitting on my butt in an office to finally get a small part of the strength you’ve developed.

Struggled out of bed this morning. Slipped on my old robe and orthopedic slippers. Took my teeth from the glass next to the bed and put on my trifocals. Shuffled down the hall to the bathroom. After several minutes of waiting managed a weak irregular flow into the toilet. Trimmed my nose and ear hair. Changed my Depends and headed into the kitchen. Mixed up a big glass of Metamucil and fixed a nice bowl of prunes. Sat down in my favorite easy chair with the plastic dust cover and floral dollies. Tuned into the Golden Girls and Matlock marathon on TV and opened my latest issue of AARP magazine.

Naw, I actually started the morning off with a Ménage à trois with Jessica Biel and Jessica Alba, somersaulted out of bed, hit the toilet with a stream that chipped the porcelain from 10’ away and lost 15 pounds taking a dump. Chopped 2 cords of firewood, ate 3 pounds of raw bacon, 2 dozen eggs, and drank a gallon of coffee for breakfast. Did a quick photo shoot for GQ magazine, returned GW’s call, and then ran the 20 miles to work in 45 minutes.

Okay, both accounts are slightly exaggerated. Anyway, despite all my and other’s attempts to prevent it I have somehow managed to survive 53 years as of today.
