Alexander Ovechkin. I believe he is 20 or 21 years old. He scored fifty goals his rookie year, AND he can hit. Best player in the game today.
I use to love hockey. But now I don’t follow it at all after the strike. So many different expansion teams that I can’t keep track it seems.
Great video clip. I’m not a huge hockey fan, but I do watch occasionally. He looks like a defenseman’s nightmare and can he check. He doesn’t quit. He just keeps coming at you. Tough kid.

There haven’t been any expansion teams since the lockout. I can see how you might be confused by teams that have moved or are expansion from previous years, or even have new jerseys.
Ovechkin is my idol. When I can play half as well as that, I’ll be happy. I watch highlight clips of him before every game.
He’s 20 now, but turns 21 in a couple weeks. He missed the deadline for the draft the year before by a day.
I saw him in person against Anaheim when he single handedly beat them. The Caps won 3-2 in OT and he had all 3 goals. I remember before the game I thought he was a good player, after the game I realized he was unreal. This guy is going to be one of the all time greats.
Him and Crosby are the next Gretzky and Lemieux… too bad Ovechkin ain’t canadian!
