Thinking of First Cycle, Currently on TRT

little about me…29yrs old…male…5’6" 166lbs…been working out for about 6 months but have always been physically fit. About 6 months ago i was diagnosed with extremely low T levels (298) having never used steroids or drugs before…after dialing in what i needed the doctor has set me at 50mg of test cyp every 5 days which brought my t levels to around the mid 800s…

i have noticed an increase in energy levels as fatigue was a bit of an issue for me…that being said i felt better at the 100mg a week but he said it raised my levels too high 12xx and would rather me be in the mid 800 range since i will most likely be on it for awhile and its better to use a lower dose…

that being said i have made good gains at the gym but my bro and cousin have suggested i try a cycle…im still not 100% sure i want to but wanted to ask a few questions…

he suggests i use sustanol 250mg a week for 10 weeks…said after which i just resume my 50mg test cyp a week no need for AI or PCT…he doses around 500mg but says i should do fine on the lower since its new to me and i already have low levels.

my doc (endocrinologist) has checked my e2 levels etc while on my trt and everything is within normal ranges…

im currently at 166lbs and want to eventually be at 185-190 10%bf…im also ok with this taking a couple years to attain but want to be able to keep whatever gains i make if i decide to do a cycle…just wondering everyones thoughts since i see there are alot of frequent “users” here.

and would i stop my 50mg cyp every 5 days while on sust or continue it at the same time?

thanks guys

i can provide current pic if needed…

Trt is for life unless you want to go back to shit levels of test or correct an underlying issue if there even is one.

it would be a good idea to have an a.i. On hand, you will most likely need it. More test equals more estro conversion. if youre positive the gear youre getting is good, you don’t need to run your trt dose with it, however, I always do just in case.

Do you think this approach would yield me good gains in size and strength?

Standard starting dose is 500Mg a week so I would run that. Yes you should get good results as long as diet/training/sleep is in order.

Just gonna run 250 for first cycle and see how it goes…should i do one 250mg shot once a week or two 125mg shots every 3-4 days??

2 shots a week minimum. That’s a low dose i’m afraid you may end up disappointed, there really is no reason you shouldn’t start at 500 but duo whatever you’re comfortable with I guess

Yeah would rather start out on a lower cycle since my natural levels are already messed up and see how i am after resuming my normal trt routine…if all is well and i do another cycle i will prob ramp it up…how long should i run this 10 weeks or 12??

Not sure i’m understanding why you’re starting low duration is not too critical since you’re on trt and don’t need to recover. Just keep up on your health, make sure everythings in check if you want to extend past 12 Weeks. You’re running such a low dose I don’t think you shouldnt really have to worry about anything besides a slight rbc increase.

Well i want to see how my body reacts at 250…im pretty reseptive to test as the low does i take for my trt jumped my levels way up…i also have a little bit of aggression issues from time to time lol so i want to see how that will be as well…so ill prob run for 12 weeks it sounds is better

Do i need blood work during cycle to know if i need an AI or anything?.

And again i shouldnt need a pct.correct?

Reading that your body was receptive to a TRT dose is not really an indicator of how your body, or system rather, would react to a low cycle (250/wk) of Test. Your body’s reaction to the TRT was more or less because it was “starving” due to your low natural level and some newbe gains (since you stated that you are new to specific weight training). Folks with that same situation, if they choose to cycle at all, adapt a Blast and Cruise cycle, never coming off or needing PCT. An AI on hand and HcG as well. That would be the direction that I would direct my research if I were you. There’s plenty of info in the sticky’s at the top of the page. Many here run this way with positive results.

Give it some real thought and good luck.

My endo says if i were to stop my trt treatment my natty levels.would come back to where they were before treatment naturally…is that still true if i ran a cycle of sust? (250mg week for 12 weeks)…i wouldnt benefit more by also using my normal trt dose of 50mg every 5 days at the same time??..will it mess me up further if one day i decide to quit my trt?.

Sry for all the qustions but ive been trying to find answers to trt and the cycle i plan to run…

Your doctor is irresponsible to assume yourtestosterone levels will come back to what they were. It also depends on how long you have been on trt. If you decide to start trt you shouldn’t really plan on coming off. It can be done but then what was the point in the first place. Going back to square 1?

You can add your trt dose to the sust if you want. The benefit you will be getting is more test obviously. You’re just increasing the dose. pretty sure I answered that in an earlier post so i’m not sure what you don’t understand.

If toy plan to come off in the future, get off now to prevent ant further hpta damage. Trt is supposed to be a lifelong commitment.

Gotcha…i dont have much of a choice i suppose anyways since my nat levels were really low and that poses its own health issues…only thing i feel ive gained is some added energy i was alot more tired before my trt and some.strength gains…eatliftsleep whats ur thoughts on blast and cruise i mean that is pretty much what i would be doing since im always on trt correct?

Sorry again for the questions not like its anything i can ask my doc about lol…and how long do u think i need to be off the sust before i can go for bloodwork?..he usually sends me every 3 months but i can prob push it another coulple weeks.

My thoughts on blast and cruise are, if you are committed to staying on trt for the rest of your life why not blast? Just monitor you’re health. you can’t really rely on your doctor for this one unless youre lucky and have an hnderstanding doc.

As far a the timing for bloodwork, honestly I have never used sust before but I know it has a deconate ester of treat in it, i’m not sure how much. I believe the half life is 15 days j could be wrong though. If it were me I would wait a month then get some bloodwork done through someone like privatemdlabs.com first and if my test level was good id get the docs bloodwork done. you can do it that way so you’re not going to your doc and crossing your fingers.

Awesome…yeah my doc has been doing this for a long time and is very conservative so it would not fly with him…and in all honesty i only plan to blast once if possible…i want to end up around 185lbs in the next year or so and stay there…i do alot of obstacle races etc so i dont wanna be too big…

Also is it recommended to be at a certain bf percentage before starting a cycle?

And after my last dose of sust i would resume my 50mg test c a week after or wait longer? Awesome thanks again for the help

Your doctor is really uninformed if he told you that your levels would return to normal, as in a normal level for a male your age. They will return to YOUR normal if you stop TRT treatment, which was low! I’m just getting into the research for this because I had bloodwork done in my early 30’s (more than 10 years ago) and was in the low 300’s.

At that time I had no idea what the hell it meant but it made sense as I was a skinny guy throughout my early years but participated in activities and a lifestyle that worked functionally with my bodytype. I was an avid runner, swimmer, mountainbiker, and could carry heavy shit over long ass distances (I was a 5’11" 165lb soaking wet M60E3 gunner in my early career). I finally took it on myself to TRT by means of Blast/Cruise recently because I was so sick and tired of the crash during and after PCT.

Blast and cruise won’t bring you up to your desired weight and strength level and keep you there once you return to TRT dosage. Bodyweight and strength will go in what I refer to as “waves”. For instance, my BW topped out at 220lbs. during my last blast (500/wk Test E), and settled in around 210lbs. during my current cruise (week 10 of 12). This is how it works for me.

Everyone’s reaction/results will be different depending on oh-so-many things, i.e. sleep, food intake, work volume both at home (employment) and gym, and most importantly, your own body/system. Personally I never feel that I get enough food or sleep, actually I know I don’t. So for me it’s a constant struggle because of my job. 100 different people will have 100 different results yet with a lot of similarities. I always say, “It’s a marathon, not a sprint”.

As far as Doc’s go, in the last 5-10 years there have been so many advances in hormonal therapy and “Anti-Aging” specialists that it has become more commonplace to the point that most insurance companies are accepting claims. Perhaps that is the route you need to explore. I’m sure you are aware but there is an entire subform dedicated to TRT.

Thanks i actually am new on the site and didnt realize there was a trt area…i will be looking into that…my doctor said my levels woukd return to my normal t levels (298ish) if i stopped treatment…not normal ranges for my age…at 50mg of test c every 5 days i maintin mid 800 levels…at 100mg i was a little over 1200 and he would rather see me mid range he said to limit long term affects of running a higher dose for life…

I install woodstoves and fireplaces for a living so im active that way all day and i go to the gym on an upper/lower 4 day split…ive been at the gym for about 6 months and have made nice gains…if i can eat my required 3000+ cals for bulking i add about a lb a week but was hoping if i ran a lower dose blast i could see some bigger gains and keep most of them when i return to my trt dose…i dont want to have to constantly b and c …if thats the case ill stay on my trt dose…

You might need more calories to get to your goal. If you want to be 185lb you need to eat like a 185lb man. And with an active job that’s probably more like 3400 calories a day. At least thats my experience. You can make gains with 250mg/wk. they wont be huge gains but you will notice it, and you’ll probably wish you would have started with a higher dosage, but there’s always next time. Also you don’t have to use Sust. The Test Cyp is fine if you have enough.

OP,
eatliftsleep has given you some solid advice. How you got your T to 800 on 50 mg every 5 days is beyond me but that should show you that everyone is different.

You could run 200 mg 2x a week and see where it gets you after 12-16 weeks. For some reason, no one ever goes less on their second run. You can always add on to the next cycle.

Im currently on an upper lower 4 day split…if i do the cycle is this best or is a body part split better (chest tri…back biceps etc)
