Should I Use More Test?

Hi guys,
I’m currently on 300 mg Test E. I’m 35yrs old and its my first cylce. I started this low because I was afraid of sides like acne (I was prone to it as a teen). I’m 6 weeks into the cycle now and I have absolutley no sides at all and made some small gains. My wife says I made VISIBLE Gains. I’m thinking about increasing the dose up to 500mg /week.

My two options are:

Staying on 300 mg for 16 weeks straight (10 weeks left) and up the dose on the next cycle

or

up the dose right now to 500mg for the next 6 weeks and shorten the cycle to 12 weeks

what would you do?

Get a blood test to see what your testosterone levels are. The reasoning for starting low is to make nice gains at the lowest dose possible so that one doesn’t have to use exorbitant doses in the near future, however the minimum dose for gains that one will be satisfied will vary from individual to individual, some will gain 10lbs on 250mg while others may only gain 5 on 500mg.

The response to testosterone will depend on genetic factors such as how much muscle mass one has before cycling, what testosterone concentration X dose gets you to etc. For instance physiolojik has some patients that require 3-400mg of test/wk just for TRT. If you are one of those guys who needs to take 300mg of test weekly to achieve physiolojik (punny joke, but I mean physiologic) concentrations of testosterone then yea, 300mg isn’t gonna do jack shit with regards to extra gains.

If you feel as if you aren’t satisfied with your gains and you want more of a boost, you aren’t feeling too much in the way of side effects may I suggest making a smaller jump, say 450mg? 600mg is a big jump from 300, it’s DOUBLE the amount of testosterone you were previously using

Is this a bulking cycle, a cutting cycle or a recomp? What was weight before cycle vs now and do you take measurements of various body parts to measure growth (like biceps, shoulders, legs etc)

Hey thanks for the answer.

I was pumping almost 10 yrs natural and made good gains. Nobody ask if I even lift but my genetics are not optimal. So I can do or take whatever I want, I’ll never be Mr. OIympia. Once a olympic coach told me I have the perfect genetics to be a marathon runner. Fuck that.

Befor the cycle I was 85 kg with around 13% bodyfat and 180 cm tall. After 6 weeks I’m 88 kg and not fatter than before. So the low dose is working for me. The test is definitly noticable. I’m feeling good, got good pumps and libido is to the roof. Sometimes its disturbing beeing horny all the time.

I wrote 300 and 500mg to make it easier. I inject 125 mg e3d SubQ, wich is equivalent to around 291 mg a week. I was thinking about injecting e2d so it’ll be equivalent to 437,5 mg a week. So its 146,5 mg more a week. I never wrote 600 mg.

Its a bulkung cycle. I dont take measurements. I make pictures to compare.

Whoops got mixed up, anyhow 291-437 is a reasonable jump if you’re comfortable with it, some others may weigh in, however 3kg seems like good gains, esp for someone who has been lifting for 10 yrs

Maybe you’re right and I shouldnt change a working cycle. Thanks. Its always good to hear opinions from neutral people

I’m in the “If this works don’t mess with it” camp. You feel good, you’re making progress, and you’re not experiencing side effects. That’s exactly what your goal was when you set out. Don’t make a change just because you can. You make a change because something you’re doing isn’t working well enough. In your case you’ve got what you want, so stick to it and enjoy.

True. And its time to check my blood to really know if all is working well.

So obviously everyone brings their own unique biochemistry to the table in regards to gear so everyone responds differently.

Anecdotally. I started at 500 made progress thought more was better bumped up to 750 and did not make significant gains that warranted the dosage. Did not have my blood work down at the that point in time but I am fairly certain I had an elevated hematocrit. AKA increased red blood cell count. Probably was hyper tensive too. All bad sides and something you should seek to avoid.

What I had great sucess with and which is what I suggest to you my friend is stay at 300. Or rather get your blood work done. If your test is at the high range of what is physiologically normal keep it there. If its above the range (normally like 300 ng/dl to 1100 ng/dl depending on test) then lower the dose.

Don’t come off. Stay on. You will be fine If your not having any side effects no reason to come off. I would suggest maybe coming off once a year for like 2-3 months but consider trt for life at this point.

After I bumped up to 750 I dropped to 300 mg every 10 sometimes 14 days and I did that for a year or longer. Felt amazing looked amazing performance was amazing. My test levels where around 900-950 ng/dl. Thats the way to go.

So long story short. Buy more test prepare for trt long term.

Sure, I’m 35 and my natty test is in the low normal range. So after a cycle it certainly wont be better than that. I was considering to just go down to 100mg /week after my cycle and see how I feel. If everything is cool, I’ll cruise on 100mg /week and make a blast one or two times a year

Sounds like a decent plan but even this notion of blasting and cruising is not something I am a fan of. And chasing after a specific dose is the wrong way to look at it. The important thing is your blood work. Where your testosterone levels are and most important is how you feel.

Most people who blast and cruise are probably fine but the way I look at it in the long term you probably don’t want your test levels going supra physiological that often. I always tried to approach in a way that would have the least amount of cumulative damage. Just something to consider. Best of luck.

Anecdotally, I’m seeing more and more guys go the blast and cruise route and not adding any more testosterone to the mix. Seeing a lot of blasts that are baseline TRT doses of test and then one or two other compounds added for 10-12-16 weeks, once or twice a year. That seems to be the way things have been going for some years now and I don’t see that trend fading.
