Yeah your version of that sounds … adventurous.
Language is funny. Moin is slang for Morgen which translates to morning. So we literally say “morning morning” to greet each other. That is also considered an informal/ kinda happy greeting. Aren’t we a jovial bunch?
Northern Germans? I don’t think so.
Most of the the ppl I’m close to at school are actually male. I don’t get much of a chance bc the conversations look almost exclusively like this:
… and this is with the guy I actually like (vs keep around for math help and research ideas )
He’s into you. The “do you have any suggestions” is a giveaway*

This cracked me up.
Glad someone found it funny. I thought I made a good joke. But I am from northern Germany.
It’s well known that German’s just aren’t funny
They make up for it by producing the world’s best beer.
I thought it was a good joke, too. I spent my time in Germany rolling with laughter.
Exactly what I’m saying. In the ironic point I’m making.
Where did you stay during your time here?
Frankfurt and Munich, though I was sort of joking about the laughter. Though I’m sure I DID laugh in Germany, funny and jovial people that you are.
Well at least one of those cities is in Germany. Can’t be blamed for the other.
Well, at least in Bayern people speak intelligible German, not that weird mumbling up north that sounds like fake Dutch.
I challenge you to a duel. We shall meet with pistols at the crack of dawn!
Very accurate describtion of Plattdeutsch though. I wasn’t thinking that far north when I said “northern”.
Hochdeutsch is the way to go.
Fine with me. I’d rather not have to use a sabre, the dueling scars are definitely out of fashion.
Couldn’t agree more.
