The Worst Thing About Bodybuilding

The nutritional aspects are the worst or the hardest part for me. Having to eat 6 or 7 times a day is a pain in the ass and eating out while dieting is just about difficult if not impossible.
I know what you mean about eating a lot, but have you considered just cooking 3 huge “meals” and eating each one in halves? I know people recommend that but it’s really simple and easy. Requires less planning.

And people who don’t understand that bodybuilding is still about creating an ideal, balanced physique and the Olympia is a contest of extremes where other contests are not.
Exactly! Although I am not a competitive BBer, I wish I could say I’m into BBing without people acting like I said I go to clubs where people wee on each other (name that quote).

Recovery…

I hate that I make progress out of the gym, and that I can’t go everyday I have to stay home and eat.

Honestly I wish I could go to the gym everyday and lift heavy compound.

Whats up with ‘active recovery’? What ya’ll think?

Also you can see my mentality, anyone concerned i’d overdue it, and end up hurting my growth?

People who can gauge the “intensity” of other people by looking at words in a screem.

People who think that if you rest more than 20 seconds you are sleeping and not working hard.

The mentality that every guy who is bigger than you knows what he is doing.

The hard time that some people have with accepting the fact that what is hard for them, may be a breeze for other people.

Strength does not equal size.

The fact that most of the population believes anyone with muscle is on roids. The perception that the only way to get big is to use drugs.
That one is really annoying. I’ve run into it, and I’m not very big by any means.

Besides the oily man-thong thing, the most annoying or difficult thing is finding the right balance between lifting and the other demands of life. Balance is a good thing. But the oiled up tanned thong-wearing is pretty darn strange.

The appearance of strength is the alpha goal. Actual strength is a nice bonus.

Undeadlift makes a very good point that I understand completely.

Little twiggy nerds who take my weights off of my barbell when I am standing right next to it taking a rest. Sorry but that pissed me off…

The really huge and massy guys (Mr Olympia) really piss me off too. What happened to having good bodies that are visually appealing?

Thats for chicks

the amount of eating. i hate that i cant really go out anywhere for too too long because i have to have my meals. it really sucks in that it excludes you from a lot of people, especially in addition to the gym time.

the lack of understanding from a lot of people irritates me too. its like people think im some kind of weirdo because of what i eat/when i eat/why i eat. of course every single one of them is either severly under or overweight.

as far as people thinking that we’re dumb for being bigger and stronger: i love it that im SMARTER and in better shape than 90+% of the people i meet, it makes me feel like a superior being haha. i actually think most people who are in extremely good phsyical shape and DONT use a coach/trainer are very intellectual & dedicated because as we all know putting on respectable muscle is not an easy thing to do.

…people think youre a muscle-head until you explain how the anabolic diet works and then they feel like a little child.

 1. Being addicted to green tea. Which means taking a piss every 60 minutes.

 2. Eating the same things, at the same time, everyday.

Luckily the seasons are changing and some different fruit is appearing in the shops.

 1. Feeling like shit for 3 or 4 days after deadlifts or squats.

I don’t know why but benching heavy doesn’t seem to hurt but my legs are sore for days after heavy squats and after deadlifting my lower back is also sore and weak.

So you’d rather look like Ronnie Coleman than Arnold or some of the older guys?

mass monsters, what happened to actually looking good?

 1. Not being able to find pants with a small enough waist.

No one makes 30" pants! At least with decent sized thighs.

 1. All of my business shirts are now tight around my chest/lats.

I’ll second that.

There is a post on here already that kind of shows my least favorite thing. I don’t want to call him out but it’s fairly obvious who it is.

Ayn Rand references.

Atlas Shrugged is one of the greatest books, ever.

people ask me if i “workout” i tell them im training to be an olympic weightlifter.

people see no difference between powerlifting, bodybuilding, or olympic weightlifting, when in reality they are all so much different, but i get lumped into the same category.

its like racism but with weightlifting

I’m guessing that is me?
