I thought your memo was pretty good…I don’t know why everyone was going crazy and blah blah blah lol. When I orginally read it I just thought you were gonna take care of some shit or are changing your lifestyle. Kinda just like taking an oath and following the procedues for your life after it. Anyways, do what ya gotta do.
I wish I were eloquent enough to come up with an adequate response to all the people, young or old, who seem to think that respect, a quality that was once cherished, is now unnecessary in this day and age. It’s a shame.
“Without feelings of respect, what is there to distinguish men from beasts”
Confucious
Quite ironic when you see these same people keep posting about what it means to be a “T-Man” as if they’ve found the secret to it yet, the fail on the simplest and perhaps most important quality.

Simply because I - and most - do not log onto a message board and crow about “achievement” does not mean that I have not achieved. I could bore everyone about what I’ve done inside and outside the weightroom (AND the competition platform, something that I know is sadly missing from your resume).
Fact is, it’s all just words on a computer screen. And the only reason ANYONE posts ANYTHING is for their own entertainment. In the end that’s all it is. You get your kicks from boasting and posting intellectually weak nonsense. I get mine from making fun of people like you: Frauds. Wanna-bes. Idiots. You know who I’m talking about because you’re it, right?
What am I a wannabe at? I’m glad you have achieved something. I hope everyone does. Why don’t you?
Second, I want to congratulate you on winning that writing contest! The article, while well intentioned was a bit laughable and not particularly well written. I think that speaks more for your competition than for the work itself. It’s a bit pathetic that you bring it up in some sad attempt at establishing your credibility. But, hey! Well done. Feel better about yourself? Is that what you were after?
The only “credibility” being established is that I have written on this board often concerning personal matters making this one not as out of place as many like you would like to make it seem.
Third, you don’t know shit about anyone on this board. We don’t know shit about you. You don’t know our names. We don’t know yours. I see a lot of people sniffing your jock, talking about your integrity, etc. Bullshit. You are what you tell us you are. So stop throwing temper tantrums and challenging people as if you are arbiter of what’s right and true and worthwhile.
Some people here do know my name. If you weren’t as irritating as you are, you might also. I haven’t posted it publicly for all to see because of idiots like you.
As far as the people on this board go, you are a character. You are a guy who sits down and bangs on keys. And that’s supposed to get you respect? This board is entertainment. It amuses me. I’m amused by you because I know people like you. Only people who have NOT achieved become internet icons like you, Proffesor X.
For someone picking out how well others can write, your grammar and sentence structure is AWFUL.
I get some good info from this board and from others. None from you. I know the people on this board who are the real deal. You ain’t it. I’ve been around the real deal my whole life. I’m not going to give you my resume. Again, it’s all just words on a keyboard and I don’t have to prove anything you. I know you can’t say the same, but hey.
Don’t worry. You haven’t proven anything aside from the fact that you get pissed because others may get more attention than you.
But, this IS a lifting board, right? And I can say with 100% certainty that I can outlift you in any lift, any day, in street clothes.
How could you possibly make a claim like that if you have given no personal info about yourself? You don’t even have any pictures in your profile of yourself. Why is someone so intent on avoiding showing who they are so worried about the fact that I do write quite a bit about who I am?
This was HUMBLE to you? Dear God, what the fuck is wrong with you?

I’ll be gone for a while. the point of the post is I don’t know what my situation will be like. The military is a “lifestyle”, not a job, and so far, the only “career” I’ve known. That was why I made posts before about the business world.

I’ll let you know when I find out.
Well Prof X I hope you have good fortune in your lives new ventures, where ever they may take you, hope you’re happy.

Come on, that deserved to be laughed at. That statement could have come right out of the mouth of David Brent!
The way I see it, I think the Prof is a class act. He has the integrity to be completely honest about people and their subject matter. Although his delivery of the message is was seems to be what gets people’s nuts in a choke hold.
You can deal with the truth, but not with some watered down bullshit, and the truth is what I think he provides. I don’t agree with everything, but he is spot on with the large majority of issues IMO.
Whether you appreciated or despised him, you did read and respect him. That speaks volumes. Take care man.
So wait a minute…X is taking a hiatus and we start getting people like DipShit 007.
I call Shenanigans…
Good luck Prof.

Didn’t you recently say in a previous thread that, because of injuries, you can’t bench press 315 lbs.? Yes, you did:
I probably cannot bench press 315 right now. That’s an exaggeration: I KNOW I can’t. Mainly because I’ve got tendonitis in my elbow and can only do DB work (seems to not bother it).
There’s no shame in having injuries and not being able to do certain lifts. But there is shame in being full of shit.
If you’re going to create an online persona at least keep it consistent.

You develop a certain kind of strength, power, athleticism, etc. when you come through a D1 athletic program, compete in powerlifting and o-lifting and are around guys who are so strong and athletic they make you feel like a child. That’s where the humility thing gets developled. Of course, you’ve missed out on all this stuff, huh?

You know, I really don’t believe in waiting till someone’s dead to say what you really think of them.
When I saw “Peace,” I figured he was still reading this board but done posting. I have to admit, I was wrong. And yes it does feel weird talking about him in the 3rd person when he’s still posting, so I’m gonna stop.
Prof: I don’t know jack about you besides what I’ve gathered from your posts, but like I said, your honesty and congruity (aka integrity) is apparent in spades. Best regards with whatever the heck you’re doing.
Good luck with the transition Prof.

Why do I have this feeling that this entire thread is really, really… odd.
DS has a point - likely for most this forum is a break from boredom. X likes to stir the pot. (It is interesting how addictive this site can be, because I know I shouldnt be contributing to this, but I am.)
I would say virtually all of X’s posts are meant to get a response, there is always a dig, a sarcastic kick in the ass. And that alone - that alone - would make me suspicious as to his credentials.
Because I wonder how a guy that can reach a level of excellence would then turn around and get SO MUCH UNTIRING FUCKING ENJOYMENT repeating himself over and over and fucking over again, to complete and utter strangers who, he makes clear from his words and tone, are to him a bunch of ass clowns.
So, I wonder aloud, why would a guy, that has spent so much effort and therefore knows the value of that effort (one assumes) spend so many countless fucking hours never tiring of telling some faceless, nameless, clueless, and perhaps hopeless alias on a web forum, that they dont know shit.
That. I admit. Puzzles me.
For example, while my weightlifting resume is quite modest at this point, my academic education (in other areas) is advanced. And I know I could not find any enjoyment whatsoever posting in a forum where my area of interest is a topic, because there would be so many other avenues available for me, that would be far more fruitful and rewarding.
If someone claimed an advanced background in that area but then spent hour after fucking hour posting the same damn thing over and over in a stupid forum, I would be quite suspicious about his “credentials”.
Im not saying the X is a fraud, but that this one thing is something that is odd, to me.

You’ll be alright. Some trepidation in these situations is entirely normal as you no doubt already know. I’d be the first to call you a liar, and not just about shaving your head in record time if you claimed otherwise. You’re one of my favorite people here despite not seeing things my way on occasion =] We’ll save your seat.
