Waylanderxx,
what exercises do you do for your lats? Also, how much do you lift on said exercises?
Thanks.
Usually my back day is lat pulldowns, face pulls, cable rows, BB rows and a machine pullover. Other than the face pulls I use the stack +20 lbs for right now on the machine stuff and BB rows I stick with higher reps (12-15) and use 315.
Since you mentioned specific weights, I was wondering, do you not focus on progress each workout? As in did you do the stack+20 and BB rows at 315 the last few times and plan on doing the stack+20 and BB rows at 315 next time?
No I work on progression, those were just my numbers last week. Usually add 5 lbs a session. Although I have been sticking with 315 on rows for a while. I’ve used up to 365 but that’s a little much at the moment.

most muscular. I tried doing these without looking in the mirror and apparently my left side has a life of it’s own…it likes to scrunch up on me. Pretty annoying. I really just thing there is something fucked up with the left side of my body but oh well hah

Chest and medial delts need to come up a lot, goofy expression needs to go.
Good work overall!
You can still use another 20+ lbs over your chest, delts and arms due to the larger waist, but I don’t think that will be a problem for you much longer…

haha I was attempting to make a decent smiling face, didn’t work out so hot.
Yah that stuff is getting bigger, although at a snails pace haha.
It always cracks me up when guys will always say “when you can bench 405 for reps you will have a big chest”. Makes me giggle lol.
in the beginning of the thread you said something like you made a habit of flexing your abs. do you solely contract them or do you do other things like sucking in etc?

No sucking in, just flexing.
i used to try to do that but it seemed like it made my upper-abs stick out way further than the lower ones. has that happened for you?

But yeah, you could go with a closer grip and tucked elbows and pretty much make it a CGP and do 405x12 and get no chest mass out of it at all. Talking from experience…

Well I can do 405 seven times right now.
And yah that’s a possibility, but I would have huge triceps if that was the case.
Der Candy wrote:
what do you plan on doing to bring up your chest?
Fixing the problem will probably be as simple as working in higher reps like CC mentioned, 6-12, it’s just common bodybuilding sense.
However, I have more important (to me at least) goals at the moment so that will be put on the back burner for a little while. I really want to hit 500 flat and 405 incline raw. I’m very close on the incline but I’m only around 450-460 on flat right now.

Not necessarily. Tricep training is a little tricky. Requires altered technique if they’re not a natural strong-point of yours…
I’d place my bet on your front-delts doing most of the work.

Need stronger tris.
And you’re totally going to end up like me.
You’ll neglect chest hypertrophy work a lot because there are just too many other, cooler things you can do instead
Bounced off the chest and with a negative more like a bomb dropping, or are we talking explosive positive, controlled 2-3 sec negative or so, no bouncing? That can make a difference, stopping a few inches off the chest and/or not going to lockout can, too, if your chest is stubborn…
And hey, it’s not like your chest is actually small… You’re just a tall guy with, well, not exactly the most round muscle-bellies around You’ll just have to bench 495 for 12…

You used to say my genetics were good and now you shit on me! tear lol jk in all seriousness though I don’t expect to look phenomenal at that weight when I’m drug free, it’s just not going to happen.
Yah 7 reps is with some bouncing, but negative is always pretty controlled. I tried it today with a very controlled negative and kind of like the PLing style of “touch and go” i.e. no bounce and only got 4 reps. I’ll have to make sure I keep my ego in check and keep doing it that way.
