The War on Drugs

No actually the GOP fights very often. Especially the small government conservatives vs the big government style are in constant debate

not misrepresentation, what’s more; it took a long ass time for him to condemn what was going on. The consistent “stop the steal” and BS regarding fraudulent results egged on far-right activists to storm the capitol.

Tweets like “be there, be wild” following the electoral results from Donald Trump certainly didn’t help matters. Following the initiation of protests, Donald trump continually kept egging on protestors until a group got together and stormed the capitol. Various Trump appointees, state department aide’s etc were caught storming the capitol. His tweet storms during the prior few weeks had continually encouraged people go up in arms, to contest the results, take to the streets and whatnot. Sure, freedom of speech… but how else is one to interpret this? “it’s just a joke”?

There was a democratic electoral process, Donald Trump refused to accept the results. I mean shit… has he even officially admitted defeat/loss yet? I suppose refusing to admit defeat is part of his demeanour, as to come across as tough and strong. That or his narcissistic mentality, his delusions of grandeur have over encompassed any other characteristics he may harbour. His egocentrism knows no bounds, perhaps he legitimately thinks he’s won?

It was definitely a coup attempt. A bunch of unarmed people without political power were allowed into the Capitol with a plan to…well, take selfies. And Trump incited it by telling people not to do it. They were so enamored with Trump that they didn’t listen to him.

Are you sure about this? in the weeks prior he repeatedly encouraged protests.

Shortly before the coop, the president went on with a two hour speech consisting of why the election was stolen from him. The speech mostly consisted of conspiracy theories/discredited theories

EVENTUALLY, he told the mob to “go home” after congressional allies begged him for hours. Initially/during the first few hours of the riot he did very little to quell the coop attempt.

Within this video he also tells the rioters “we love you, you’re very special… These are the things and events that happen when a sacred landslide election victory is so unceremoniously & viciously stripped away.”

Should also be noted a large portion of these rioters were far-right extremists, white supremacists and the likes.

It is most often not seperate even if it could be. The killing is an integral part of most abortions. The methods used are not those used for premature birth.

No. That was sarcasm. He did not incite anything.

Has Hillary Clinton ever accepted that she lost? Yes what aboutism. Trump lost, that’s that.

My point is: incitement is a legal term and as such has a clear definition. Trumps actions and words don’t meet that standard, he therefore didn’t incite. But his behavior was very bad yes. Still it can be bad but not incitement.

Yes. Like immediately once the race was called she conceded. No one has ever cried like Trump about taking an L. He will say he was cheated until the end because he can’t accept that he lost. And so will the vast majority of his supporters.

“Donald Trump is going to be our president,” she said, speaking at the New Yorker hotel in Manhattan. “We owe him an open mind and a chance to lead.”

Why should this be noted? If true, what does it have to do with whether Trump incited anything?

To refuse electoral results/give up being president to my knowledge is unprecedented in the USA. I hope to god this doesn’t set a new standard. I don’t like the “at least it’s not Hillary” argument… because it was’t Hillary, she didn’t win. Even if she did… at least Hillary wouldn’t parrot bullshit conspiracy theories over the next four years. What’s more, I doubt she’d disband the pandemic response team under the guise of “but it was created by Obama”

Aside from sociocultural differences/a dissuasion towards authority, there is no excuse for the 550K deaths within the USA.

Quote “We love you, you’re very special people”… referring to the rioters…

Again: What does that have to do with whether he incited anything?

You can’t blame that on trump. Really. He did what he could and had to do. Biden does nothing more except maybe for a national mask mandate which doesn’t make any sense. Trump handled the pandemic as good or bad as anyone would have. In a country like america you have to leave it up to the states. Even in Germany regulation is done on state level, which is way smaller. Also which states in the US got hit hardest again?

Depends who you ask. Republicans have used that word and Republicans have used things like provoke, etc.

But don’t really want to get bogged down by that term. Provoked, encouraged, galvanized, whatever you want to do. If he takes the L like everyone else the event doesn’t happen.

There are people who view Trump’s response as gods word. Following his gaffe/attempt to seem smart by talking about injectable disinfectant, people actually went ahead and tried this leading to numerous hospitalisation and deaths. When asked whether he felt responsible, Trump responded “I take no responsibility”. I’m not misrepresenting DT or taking things out of context… One of the biggest problems with Donald Trump IMO is that he can’t keep his fucking mouth shut. He always has to come across as intellectually superior no matter the topic at hand. Unfortunately when it comes to science/medical terminology he appears to know jack shit, as a result he spews a whole lot of nonsense that some people lap up as if Jesus has spoken to them. This leads to people getting hurt… DT could’ve easily done so well with covid, all he had to do was follow the advice doctors/experts gave to him.

Anyway, I’m signing off for a few hours, have quite a bit of work to do

You mean act like it wasn’t a big deal, politicize mask wearing, attack blue states and scientists?

I mean he doesn’t own the deaths but his response to Covid is the reason he lost the election. It was a political softball coming straight down the plate and he whiffed horribly man.

Ok good. You are right here. My point is more about her wandering around the country for 3 years telling everyone how it was rigged and unfair and only because America was misogynistic. But that’s not the point here.

Nice to see people joining the discussion even though I hate this discussion about who’s worse.

I’m not HRC fan and never have been. Just being clear that she conceded just like every other President has.

You mean act like Nancy pelosi throwing parties in China town in mid March shortly before the lockdown? You mean like cuomo forcing people into nursing homes?

That is not his fault. I’m sorry, it just isn’t. If I say something stupid and someone goes and does some stupid shit, it’s his responsibility. Trump didn’t force anyone to inject anything. It’s not his fault that some stupid people consider him the second coming.

What do those have to do with his response? I’m not arguing that Trump was alone in fucking up. Also you’re talking about a party that happened before we really knew what this shit was and how bad fully. It’s hard to compare actions taken in February or March to when we knew very little to ignoring CDC advice months down the road. But again not attempting to defend others or say trump got it wrong and no one else.

He had his own Vice President not wear a mask in the Mayo Clinic for fucks sake because he had decided that makes you a pussy or something. I’ll admit I view some stuff more harshly on him than others but his Covid response has largely been universally seen as awful even among many supporters on here. He largely ignored or attacked the scientific community for months and defied their guidance when he had an opportunity to encourage his supporters to follow it.

We only know what happens and not what could have happened. But what is our death count if Trump encouraged his supporters to listen to health professionals? He had an easy opportunity to bring people together and instead as usual he divided people.

Belittling Biden for wearing a mask before a debate when something had killed hundreds of thousands will be one of the oddest “attacks” in American history.
