Read an interview with the lady who plays Rick’s wife Lori. She said something along the lines of how “the majority of Season 2 was filmed at the farm so it’s been nice in real life to put my iPod on and go walk in the woods.”
Maybe that is their version of the prison. I read the first 100 issues or so of the comic and frankly, it was getting a little repetitive…build up the story/characters, then kill eveyone off…repeat
It’s kinda what they are doing with True Blood, just using the books as an overall guideline. I really hope they bring Michonne on. That would rock, but it’s probably a little far-fetched for a “real-world” kind of scenerio. The whole arc with The Governor would be cool too

I think a lot of the issues you guys have with realism will get answered in later episodes, especially the one as to why the farmhouse has minimal protection. If you’re really curious and not just bitching, go read the comics. Also, I agree with this:

Random thought: For some of yall, it may ruin the show but I think it would badass if they made some type of “special” zombie that the group comes across. Kinda like in Left 4 Dead 1&2. Just a thought.

people that follow the books know about the farm house. It comes later in the book which is cool because it means they are moving the series fast . “The prison” may come this season or at the end at this rate.
I can’t give it away because the series may differ from the comic books. BUT everybody that posted that asked about Why is the house so clean and Why is it not boarded up is right it is strange for a VERY smart old man to do that. And yet he did.
Remember his speach about “Hope For A Cure” and Remember that HOPE can make a normal smart person do strange things.
