Shane is a loose cannon and a murderer. Dale should have shot him. His “smart” choices are not smart. Hershel seemed willing to let them stay if they played by his rules. Now they’ll find themselves exiled having to scavenge for supplies trying to find somewhere safe to be. Back to square one.
Makes for a more interesting story and I’d like to see them find out what happened to the rest of the world. But when the problem of safety is minimized (walkers in the barn are a non-issue, they’ve been in there for months), I wouldn’t call Shane’s choices smart.
Carl and Glen being the youngest are the 2 that seem the most adaptable to the changing world.
Everyone else seems very caught up in either Emotions/feelings of the past world (shane/Lori/Andrea) or trying to hold on to a belief of how the world was with the rules Humanity lives by.
Hell even a gang knows you must have rules and structure or the group will fall apart and shane is not the type to lead that future.
Rick is showing he is thinking of others because he is willing to bend for the good of others. But he has a weakness and it is keeping him from thinking clear.
He is making mistakes trying to keep everyone together that he would not be making if he could only lose that one thing fogging his thoughts.
Its time for some of that Medieval Law/Justice/love

How exactly is he going to MAKE them leave? For that matter, how did he expect to enforce his “rules”? With a harsh gaze and some choice words? He can’t MAKE them do anything. He’s an old man that lacks the fortitude and firepower to back up his words.
Rick and Shane’s group can stay as long as they want, or until they figure out that they can just take the fucking farm from Hershel. Then it will become THEIR farm.

How the hell is he adapting well?

On a stress level how would you measure Glens stress compared to the rest of the group?
Now remember this is a kid who went into a well with a fat azz zombie and almost went right into his arms and still came out mission complete[/quote]
I say its pretty high compared to everyone else. He’s the guy they pick for stuff like going into town and wells…he’s got a lot of shit pent up. At least everyone else is letting there’s out.
I see glen going postal in the future. The ones who smile are the most dangerous right?

An ultimatum was made and Rick was willing to abide. That’s how they will leave. Maybe they’ll honor their word because they’re not all might-makes-right sociopaths like Shane.

That kid has the less stress of the group outside of the kid. He is going thru the same Zombie hordes as the other group and doing it more and he still has time to go around like a kid going on a date.
That is adapting to th new world. The others are looking stressed yelling and screaming even the older ones that are busting nuts still look half crazy most of the time. Not him. He is getting laid and still acting like a regular guy his age would act trying to date a girl.
The others look like they will burn out way before Glen
Which is why Glen’s inevitable death will be all the more tragic. Good things happening to him = feelings of hope for the audience, combine this with the fact that he is not white and you make for an easy dramatic death near the end of the season or whenever. I’d hate to see it this way, but it seems likely.
Am I the only one who thinks its funny how we have one black guy and one asian guy? It’s like the writers wrote the story, then realized the cast looked like some postcard for the aryan super race, and threw in a black guy and an asian guy. Then they realized that was too obvious, so they threw in a redneck white trash guy to throw us off their trail.

If this is stress give me some. Whatever happens to Glenn he will take it in stride.

Yea he is sneaky.
You know after discovering this series of comics and trying to read comics again, I have discovered I do not like reading comics.
