OK I’m totally getting Season 1…just got done watching “Breaking Bad” and that’s awesome TV but I’m definitely going to check this out on my XBOX.
Ok SO… They gave away something I didn’t catch in the Talking Dead
SPOILER SORTA not really*
Herschel said that OTIS was the guy who rounded up the zombies for the barn. So Shane Killed him before they had a chance to find out that he put a Little Girl in the Barn.
Odd how they Tied that together.

Odd/not top shelf writing is my take.
How long was Sophia missing before Carl got shot?
How long does it take for a bite to go septic, kill, and then for you to turn?

Does not take long to just Bleed out. Minutes…seconds if your scared and running.
I think your viewing the writers with a God eye view.
Looking at this and saying this would make more sense if he did this or that is right but how often do untrained scared people do the Rigjt thing?
Dale trying to hide the guns until Rick comes back or he can figure shit out does not make a whole lot of sense bit it does if your a desperate old man who is trying to buy time.
The writers are actually making good choices…even for T-dog because every group has o e fucker who hides and naps for hours… Hahah oh Im hating his character hahahah

Damn IPhone!!!
At least Lori Bitches…T-Dog is just taking space.

I get the feeling that the bionic redneck just lost his last bit of Hope that kept home sane.
That Kid is smarter than his mom. And adapting to the new world better than the Adults.
Fuck Lori…sorry had to add that.
I hope we find out that T-dog goes out and is a secret superhero or villian even, just something interesting. I’m not sure if the black lady that died in the first season was his wife or not, but if it was, the ddue showed no emotion to her dying.
And as far as Otis finding the little girl, they were looking for her for over a day before Otis shot Carl, so there was time. I think Herscel might have known, and that’s why he said they could stay there until they found her, knowing that they would not find her.
And did everyone else hear that part with Dale and Shane where Dale straight up said “You killed Otis” and Shane didn’t blink or try to deny it? Dale needs to tell someone about that.
I still think Shane is going to try and kill Herschel, and hopefully someone will take Shane down in the process. Shane calling calling Daryl a methed up redneck didn’t help his stock with him I’m guessing.

SPOILER
Seems Rick has finally hardened the fuck up, and found the middle ground between naivety and Shane level crazy.
Rick was never a pussy. He’s trying to hold on to his humanity unlike most of the survivors.
I am a Rick supporter, dont get me wrong, but in these last two episodes he has been too diplomatic, too inactive.
He finally at the very end put his foot down.
He needs to put his foot down firmly on Shanes balls. That guy would rather kill Hershel and take over the farm then try and work it out.
Well to be fair, Hershel is not helping his side with his “omggggg they are like sick people” argument. He is cracking up just as bad as Shane.
Rick put his foot down on Hershels’ retarded ass belief. Its a start. Now its time to put it down on Shane.
Nope, SHANE put his foot down on Hershel’s retarded beliefs. Rick was busy gargling Hershey’s balls while mumbling “Thank you, Master!” when Shane stepped in and gave them a great lesson about how non-human these creatures are.
Also, Rick made a bad call with Carl. When shit hit the fan, he decided to let him curl up into a fetal position with his mom and present themselves as zombie food instead of letting him get his first easy kill on the barn walkers.
Shane might be nuts but at this point he is still a great benefit to the group. It WAS about damn time to stop wasting time and endangering everyone because of Sophia and Herschel’s misguided humanity. His speech on the subject was more rattling and inspiring then Rick’s “We gun find her y’all” BS-hope drivel.
And seriously, fuck Dale. Not just useless but downright detrimental to the group. Who the fuck does he think he is, the great overlord who knows exactly when the group can spare their guns in this day and age?
It all boils down to him being jelly of Shane for dicking his pseudo-incest-daughter.

Of course it was a sign of strength (most importantly to the group IMO showing that he’s still got it) but overall I think he’s way too soft. Let’s see how he acts throughout the rest of the season.
Dale was spot on, a man like Shane is what’s needed in those times.

Rick is way too soft for this world. When shit hit the fan, he decided to let Carl curl up into a fetal position with his mom and present themselves as zombie food instead of letting him get his first easy kill on the barn walkers. Pussy!

This post sums up my thoughts perfectly. Shane is awesome, Dale sucks, and Rick needed a big slap in the fucking head to wake him up. Shane gave it to him, sans baby powder. He might be nuts, but he was also right about EVERYTHING.
As far as Hershel wanting them to leave, that wasn’t going to happen unless he actually had the force to make it happen. He doesn’t. He can wish them away all he wants, but at the end of the day they have more men, more guns, and more trained shooters than his group does. A smarter man would have welcomed them with open arms, knowing that they could simply take everything away from him in a heartbeat. By gunning down all of the barn walkers, Shane basically just showed him what he’s up against: a tough, battle-hardened group of survivors that are only alive because they can kill walkers dispassionately and with (relative) efficiency.
Shane is Bat-Shit-Crazy. If he goes it alone then he is in the world he should be in…A Bat-Shit-Crazy world.
If Shane stays with the Group he is going to either kill or get killed. I enjoy watching him bug out and yell but let’s not pretend it’s for any other reason than he wants Ricks family…And now maybe a Baby.
Shane talking crazy to the wife about him saving the day at the camp. They had no guns so if not for Rick all those asses would be dead. Shane sees the world thru a narrow vision and if ANYONE gets in his sights he will pull the trigger.
He needs to leave that group. But that will only happen if Lori goes with him.
It’s funny but when I match this show with the books all of this stuff happens real early.
This is the mild stuff that happens to them. Haha they will look back on these times as the Happy days ![]()
Very good episode.
After watching the ep a 2nd time I noticed when Shane was gunning down all the zombies he threw Rick a skeptical look before he shot the walker Rick had on the stick leash thing, as if to say:
“Yeah, you know that your wife & I had it going on when we thought you were dead so no way I’m letting you near me that close w/a walker on a stick”
In hindsight Sophia getting bit in the neck, being found in the swamp by Otis then quarantined in the barn all makes sense now… Although I don’t recall the groundrules of their stay as set by Herschel said “By no means are you to go near the barn”
I’m wondering if Herschel has snapped & mentally disconnected after seeing the people he took in “slaughtered” his wife & stepson.
Why was there no reaction from Maggie or Herschel when their family was gunned down? Too much shock?
Man, February is so far off. AMC knows how to cliffhang. Damn.
I’m sorry but right now Shane is the only one making smart choices. He killed Otis to save himself AND Carl (what I think some don’t realize), and now he did what was needed to be done to pull Hershel back to reality and the group back on track.

Man I havent really read the comics but I really want to see the series step up the gore/terror factor. In season 1 you could feel the constant anxiety in the air; how nowhere was truly safe; how the world really had gone to shit and the apocalypse was nigh.
In this season there is a lot of crying and the occasional test-fuelled Shane and Darryl kicking ass. I want more people to be ravaged. I really wanted to see the mom getting eaten by a zombified Sophia. I want to see people cornered and fighting for their lives and having to make crazy moral choices. I want this show to actually feel like the end of the world again.
^^ He shot Otis to save himself and himself alone. If you remember that scene, Shane was gimped from jumping out of the window, Otis was not. If they were both uninjured they would have both gotten away. He had to shoot Otis to give himself time to limp away.
Shane was right about shooting the zombies in the barn, but he is not a leader. Rick is the man and I’m glad he shot Sophia at the end. Hopefully he’s found the right balance between polite society (Hershel) and acting like an animal (Shane).

Right. As Glen said, he was getting comfortable with the zombie and forgetting how dangerous thing really are. I think that numbness spread throught the group too…as seen with lori who seemd to expect hershell was gonna give them a haven forever…and carl still believing they can stay…saying sophia will like it at the farm.
Lol
Carl was upset…he saw his ONE option for first base stumble out of the
He probably still considered it. barn as a walker.
