It also shows that linear progression is crap. Life has ups and downs whether you’re a youngster going to school or an “adult” trying to keep a small human alive. There are curve balls and sometimes you get hit by the pitch and it nearly cripples you (worked at a baseball game tonight). You eventually find your way back to the good times and a return to glory only to face the next wave of adversity.
I’ve faced a lot of things that could derail training - surgeries, children, work, depression. I keep pushing forward only to prevent myself from going backwards. But I guess that’s okay. I live in America and most people are trying to go upwards/forwards, but they’re actually falling down backwards on the downward escalator. They make us look like conquerors.
Well said. For me a lot of it simply comes down to time and priorities. In my 20s I had nothing but time, now I have to do everything I want to do in about 10-12 hours a week. Down from 40-50 probably. Everything else is family stuff and work.
I suppose I could neglect this or that and double my training time, but that’s just not gonna happen with the family time, so then that leaves my other hobbies and I don’t want to only be someone who only lifts as their sole hobby (with, let’s face it, non stellar results even back when I had all the time in the world)
When I look at the five year comparisons I see commitment and drive. You all look great, and chances are very good that you’ll all look similarly great five years forward.
Congrats to @2sides_whufc, @boyce79, and everyone else who pushed themselves for this challenge and saw it through.
Not knocking any previous years, but this was definitely one of the most stacked groups with tons of great transformations and really sums up what it was all about. Awesome work from y’all.
Great job everyone but remember it doesn’t end here. Lets see how many of us can keep pushing for the remainder of the year so that when we do our before pic for the 2022 transformation it doesn’t look the same as the before pic from this year. Too many of us make progress only to slip back and start over gain. Look forward to seeing everyone at the August check in and then beyond.
