I don’t think that was ever covered for me. I had pretty bad social studies teachers - history, civics, etc. None of them were taught very well.
Once I got to college and had some really good professors in those areas, it made me start enjoying the subjects a lot more. That’s probably lots of peoples’ experiences, maybe especially with math-related subjects.

A kid on second shift pulls in and parked next to him just as we were walking to our cars. I look at him and go “Get 'em. Give him the crazy eyes!”. So he intercepts the kid and starts into him- “Hey! You just parked next to me. What the fuck! Can’t a black man get in his car no more?..” and just going the fuck off on him.
It was great. Kid drops his bag, starts juggling his keys, apologizing and doesn’t know what for and just losing his shit. Could not get into his car to park somewhere else fast enough.
